Hi guys,

I couldn't stand reading all the nice things about this ESC. Got a Tekin RS PRO on order yesterday from HK with free shipping

Next order will be some tires and the Hotwire

I already have a LRP 9.5T stock motor... I want also to have the possibility to try something different .. Any good deals on a Redline 6.5T or should I go for a 5.5T ?

Hey All,
I am travellig to a big race tomorrow and have a dilemna. The lowest FDR I can get in my 009 with an Orion Vortex 13.5 and RS Pro is 5.44

Is there any way I can make this gearing work with timing and boost control..........please help!
Thanks,

Whats up guys? Just got a few questions. I purchased a new tekin RS 13.5 combo along with a trinity pulse. I run a FT T4 on a large offroad track. I dont get my tekin system until friday but wanted to get a head start b/c this weekend will be the only weekend I will have a chance to run.

What would be a good starting gear? I have heard about calibrating also, but is this always necessary? Do I have to have a hot wire to get it to run? What software comes on the esc? Do I gear the tekin motor the same as the pulse?
Also Im running lipo, is there a cut off for the lipo.

Midnight, this is better off in the offroad Q&A but I'll put it here as well.

Try the setup in the photo. One of our favorite 13.5/10.5 offroad setups.

Use the Hotwire to setup your esc. The software that it comes with is 180. The setup shown is 189. If you need a copy email me for it: [email protected]

Gearing will depend on track size?

Randy, do you now if there is also a shop in the Netherlands that sells Tekin?

Well, if by newest you mean 180, which is the newest "shipped" release, I'd run in dual mode ("sensored only" not checked) and set the ESC timing to about 80. Gear to 3.6-3.7 FDR and check temps. If you're OK on temps you can add a little more timing. I was running a SP 17.5 with version 180, geared to 3.6 and could take the timing to 90 and still come in at 160°F at the end of a race. It was blisteringly fast like this -- several people were sure I was running a 13.5. This is on a good-sized outdoor asphalt track.

If you have the beta 189 firmware run "sensored only" and set boost to 15-20. I don't know what the fixed timing is in the Losi motor (assuming something like 12°) but you want to end up with 30-35 degrees of timing advance between the can and the boost. Again, keep an eye on temps, and add boost and adjust gearing until you're coming off the track around 165°F. I think earlier in the thread someone posted the fixed timing for the Losi motor and knowing that would take some of the trial and error out.

Anyone else agree/disagree?

All of this assumes you have the Hotwire...

Is this used with the default motor timing of 12deg?

No, that setup I posted is for 24 degrees of timing.

I'll change the timing based on traction and feel.

Hi guys..

When you refer to red or Green power bands what are you refering too? (still waiting my RS, should come this weekend) Maybe it will be clear then!

I race TC Rubber 10.5... Would you guys say the 0 degree full boost is the place to start? or if anyone has a screen shot of a setup that I could start with that would be great...

Cheers

how do I install the ver189? Do I need to uninstall the previous version first and then reinstall the 189?

Thanks in advance.
