Tekin RS ESC sensored

I have the tekin RS and a trinity 13.5 BL motor. Im running full timing boost on the speedo, so is it a bad idea to turn up the timing to 20 or 30 degrees on the motor??
Any input would be appreciated thanks

Hi, I just got the RS with a 13.5 and I have the 198 hotwire software. I've already received what a few people are running with the 13.5 in TC on asphalt and I'm curious to what other people are running.
What size asphalt track?
What motor timing?
What boost setting?
And what FDR?
The info I have received so far were running 5.0-5.8 FDR's with 12 motor timing and 20 boost. The other was 5 motor timing and full boost.
Thanks for all your help.

-Still cannot understand which mode i should be in for 13.5 BL touring car. Sensored or dual mode?
-I also want te timing boost to come into affect on the speedo so which mode will make that happen?

From what i understand from reading this forum is that the sensored mode only engages the preset timing in the speedo when the cable becomes disconnected otherwise timing is adjusting solely through the motor? is that correct?

It depends on what software you're using. If you're 189 or better while in sensored only mode you have access to Timing boost also.

I tested today the 189 software and the 194.
The 189 is in a tc faster.
tested ad full boost with a LRP X11 10,5T. end ratio 5.8
and 23 boost with 5,6 end ratio
The temps were ok. The 5,6 with 23 boost was the best setup at the moment.
The 189 hath more top speed than the 194 version.
So next race i will use the 189. Also the LRP X11 is faster than the speedpassion 10,5
same speed and the temp of the speedpassion was higher. a lot higher. almost 180 wile the lrp was 150+.
Because i have no good tires any more i couldn't test the Tekin redline motor with the 189.
The temps are still ok so why is the 194 slower than the 189?
Can the new software get the power back of the 189?

proper testing
On the speed difference noticed with 189 vs 194 software, the person posting later stated the speed difference was seen running with two different battery packs, so it could just be a difference in batteries. Not a very scientific way to make such a claim about a difference in speed and saying it was the version of software that caused it.
This is how rumors get started that one version of software is faster than the other. Please try to be careful about claims of issues if you are not taking everything into account.
You should only change one thing at time to see what the effect is. I have even found that the same batteries will run better on a second charge of the day than the first, so even the same battery pack can run different.
Proper testing is very difficult, but fruitful if done right.
If we want to help each other out or the manufacturer to improve what we run, it is important to use this method and give all factors that may have an effect, and be accurate as possible.

+1 The number of people who make claims about things when their experiment is badly controlled is where the bad information starts. Batteries are the biggest influence on speed. Most NiMh these days give more volts on the first run after storage, and more duration on the second run (same day, that is). The motors are rated by rpm/volt, so even the slightest difference in voltage will give a different speed on the track.
Since Tekin make no claims for the way the software fires the coils in the various versions, why would one think that 189 was any different to 194 on the same settings? More likely that the cells, or something else, has made a difference.
Whilst we're on the 13.5 subject, what's the favourite setting for 13.5 motors in World GT? Is it 30 deg on the speedo, and 0 on the motor, or 10 on the motor and 20 on the speedo? Some guidance from you guys would be very useful. Thanks.

Also putting on the AMB system and good tires.
So tomorrow i now more.

I personally have ran 189 back to back with 194 a few times recently. I have noticed NO speed diffrence at all. All I have felt was throttle curve where 194 was much more smoother. 189 feels more aggressive from low to mid power where 194 revs up slower. Top speeds were still getting same boost we input in speedo, So the more aggressive feel may have some thinking there going faster. But overall both profiles work great.

Randy, what would be the reason to run Sensored only mode, instead of the dual mode? I am still very confused as to how these two modes compare, and why one would run one over the other. For example, I understand that the dual mode will continue to run the car should your sensor system break, or come unplugged... so WHY then, would you ever run the sensored only mode? What is it's advantage?
