My setup at the BRC track, is:

Boost: 50
5000-15000
Turbo 15
Ramp 3
Delay 0.25
FDR 5.7
SP 17.5 timing 10

57 deg celcius after 6 minutes, and one of the fastest at the track (Only GM can keep up, but their motors are reaching temps of over 100 deg celcius. God I love my Tekin )

Lower your end RPM a bit. you wll have even a faster car. motor temps of 65 to 70C.

I run with my SPv3.0 13,5T with a higher start RPM and a lower end rpm.
7000 to 10000rpm range. Turbo 5.
turbo delay 0 ramp 2.
gearing 6.0fdr

with my Tekin I run a lower motor timing. around the 4 and 7 to 8 turbo.
also a bit lighter gearing. speeds are the same but the Tekin feels a lot smoother.

I have a LRP X12 but never used with my Tekin. it runs good with my lrp sxx ss. a clubmember is using it ad the moment.

I have also a GM and motor temps of 100 C are normall. as you have lower temps with the speedo, than you have not enough speed to keep up with the Tekin.
I tried to run the GM with a motor temp of 75 C. It was slower than with a motor temp of 90+C.

I think you would find your car to be faster and more consistent if you widened your RPM range (a lot in fact), and added some turbo delay.

I tried that but I this went faster with the Turbo.
Turbo on 0 is the same as for others on 0,3 delay.

The other Tekin from me has an other setup. An other driver uses it now and as he drives with my setup, than he is slower and his motor gets about 10C hotter than mine. But he puls hiss throttle after each corner as fast as he can.

I wanted to widen my rpm range but this will be in 2011.
The other Tekin is now with this setup for what I can remeber.
Boost 45
Turbo 10
Turbo ramp 2 Delay 0,3
start rpm around the 6000
end rpm 13000 or 14000.
gearing about the same as I have. I thought a bit heavier but I don't now how much. His motor gets now around the 70C.

He is going fast with it.
He was after a crass in the back and he drove back to the 3th place.
He had the same laptimes as I had.
So I'm going too try that setup bud with a lower turbo delay.

Still with this rpm range my car is the fastest on the track but the driver with my second Tekin came closer. Last race finisht 2nd and in the qualification he followed me till the finish. He was only 1,3 sec alower overal.
I normally start and see only the cars that I lap.
In mod it was along time the same but the last races they came close. I didn't realy improve but my aponents did.
I run now only mod as there is time to switch motors and I still train mod.
love the speeds.

Thanks
I know just enough about this iPods/iPads/iPhones to be dangerous (ie- I am registered in Apple's IOS development program).

Although I haven't specifically attempted USB communications with iPod/iPhone/iPad, I've read through some of the programming references, etc (not too clear)..

It appears the "EAAccessory framework" is used for communcations through the dock connector. It also appears that the connected device (the HotWire) is expected to comply to Apple's MFi (Made For Ipod/Ipad, etc), else it won't work.

For the Hotwire to gain MFi stamp of approval:

1) Hotwire needs to support the required Apple protocol to pass Manufacturer, Version, etc to the Apple device. If the string it passes isn't on a supported Apple list, the programming framework will not work. (I believe)

2) Just as I paid Apple some money to develop software, Tekin would have to pay Apple for the Hotwire to become MFI. I suspect these fees for licensing and testing are a lot more than the $99 that I paid.

3) Tekin would have to pay Apple royalties for each MFI Hotwire sold. I've heard these royalties can be in the range of 25-30%, not sure, but very significant.

Let's review, Tekin pays Apple money, Tekin works hard developing the thing and later works hard to keep it in sync with the Windows product, Tekin pays apple more money for each unit they sell..

I love my Apple toys as much or more than the next guy, but I can't blame Tekin (or any similiar manufacturer) for not jumping head first into this project.

Randy, I hope I got this mostly correct.

Hey there all, just wondering if the GM 13.5t motors work fine with the Tekin Pro?? If so what would be a awesome fdr and tekin settings up for a Hotbodies TCX, running on a large fast flowing asphalt track with rubber tyres??
Any help will be awesome
Cheers

Bluetooth would probably be the easiest option. Since the hotwire is, I believe, an HID, maybe all it would need is a version with a Bluetooth radio and the software on the iPhone to control it once the two are paired. The new Bodybugg works this way, and it seems to be a popular route to avoid the whole scary dock connector thing. I'd buy a BT hotwire in a second. I bet lots of people would.
