When you speak of N on the orange, are you talking about the factory setting of the motor? If not then what is N on the orange 17.5?
Thanks and God Bless

Thanks Randy and others for your advice.

But just to double check, would I turn down the turbo to say 5, gear down like 4 teeth and check temps every 2 minutes and if temps are still low, gear up to the right gearing continuing to check on temps THEN slowly turn up turbo up to Hara's settings? Incidentally, what is a safe/max motor temp for the "orange" motor?

Thanks,

Ivan

Ivan yes use the gear up slowly and add turbo slowly idea, it works best.

For "that" motor I believe they say nothing more than 180.

i am sure this has been covered, but an hour of searching didn't pay off.

i am trying to get set up for a zero-timing 13.5 WGT class, and am behind the power curve on motor selection and endbell timing.

i have 3 motors to choose from:
1. tekin (currently in use in 1/12 car, open boosted class)
2. speed passion v2? this is the black can fixed timing version
3. lrp x-12

1, the speed passion seemed down on speed compared to another car on the track.
2, the lrp was better but not there, using the 3dot insert, apparently i should have stayed with the 2dot.

with limited practice time on raceday, so i was looking for suggestions. with the 3 motors above, i would like to have 2 competitive cars, 1/12 boosted, and wgt zero-timed.

my next step is try the 2dot in spec mode. if this doesn't payoff, then swap motors, then find a suggested endbell timing for the tekin in spec mode and lrp in boost mode.

oops, forgot the state the question(s):
what endbell timing would you suggest for 13.5 1/12 boosted and for 13.5 wgt spec 0 timing for tekin redline and lrpX-12 13.5 motors?

the only recent info that i found was 20degrees on a duo for the spec timing case.
thanks very much any help on this subject.

Hi guys.

I am looking for a little bit more speed. My settings are:

Motor: Speed Passion V3 17.5T
FDR: 5.95
Motor Timing: +3 degrees
Drag Brake: 25
Brake Strength: 100
Neutral Width: 10
Throttle Profile: 3
Push Control: Off
Boost: 45
Turbo: 15
Turbo Delay: 0.2
Sensored: On
End RPM: 15000
Start RPM: 5000
Turbo Ramp: 2.0

I was perfectly fine with the speed with this settings, but another driver at the track (a modified top-driver, now driving SuperStock 17.5T) has the same speed as a 5.0T modified down the straight (not joking!).

How can I optimize my settings? The temp on the motor after 5 minutes, is 43 degrees celcius, and the ESC is 34 celcius.

Bump boost to 50 and put your gearing at a 7.0 fdr

I have a Ballistic 17.5 and the markings are on a sticker.

"45 30 15"

Now it came with the motor engraved mark very near the 30 degree timing. So would this original position be the neutral?
Thanks and God Bless

Try a little more boost or add some more motor timing.

Awesome track...I've found that the SP V3 motors need full timing (10*) on the endbell to really wake up. Bump the boost to 50 and back the turbo down to 10. You should probably be closer to a 6.5+ FDR as well. This should get you good rip for the infield, and you can add turbo as temps allow for the straight. Don't be afraid to experiment with 3 on the turbo ramp either...I've found with 208 I can run a 3 ramp on my local carpet track with no fade or overheating, even in a 6 minute race. 43C is barely warm and I have run mine up to 70C with no fade.

Did I mention awesome track?
