Yes, higer time shift means higher motor timing. For stock racing, we usually use highest setting -> timeshift = 5 and turbo = on

Just to chip in, I do know the turbo works....

A few weekends ago, having updated the firmware trackside, I went out on track with what I thought were my correct settings... but for some reason the lap time wasn't there, and the car didn't feel to quick. I'd been posting 19.1's on that run.
Came back in and found that I hadn't put the turbo on.... went back out, and immedietly put in an 18.6.... no other changes on the car.

303slowdown:
It is always safe to re-cal the radio after firmware update. It is also recommended that you set the profile again using the handheld programmer.

nietzbatik:
Did you do the firmware update? Did you wire all A,B,C to the the negative of the motor? The most important is to make sure your profile page 9 is at value 3.

Firmware not yet update (waiting for handheld programing arrive)..
Is there any gaining performance with just update the firmware?

just fix it at value 3 on profile page 9.. It's working now..

What is the best setting for this ESC (RB50) for 23T Brushed stock motor? (Driver Profile,Brake Profile, etc..)

Thanks

Hello All,

Just had my faulty unit replaced here in the Uk that I tried first at Cotswold BTCC. Straight line speed even with old dead nosram motors was very impressive. Allowing me to run 18.8's lap with ease, even with out brakes which as people know is not the best thing in the world.

Right my question is what gearing are people starting at for the Team Wave RB-50 and Wave 10.5t motors around cotswold?

Cheers

Slick990,

At Cotswold at the btcc I started at 4.8 and ended at about 4.2/4.3 coming off at about 156f, so there is more to be had, what sort of gearing did you start with?

Hey Craig,
Myself and James were bouncing gearing ideas off each other at the btcc. I ended up on 4.33, having been putting bigger pinions on all day, and didn't get the motor hot at all (about 70 deg).
Last weekend went back up for a bit of practise, ran it a tooth higher (so about 4.2ish) and still was not troubling the temp gun...
This was with the latest update, with time shift on 5, power profile 9 and turbo on.
HiH

we finding with the new generation esc's that lap times is a better indication of pace than motor temp.
At the last nats i was plenty fast but my 13.5 motor never went over 55 deg/c.
when i geared up more it got warmer but slower.
If you producing the laps and temps are down dont stress, motor will last longer

When I was at the BTCC i used an old Nosram motor as my Wave motor hadnt arrived which i geared at about 4.5, but only ran that on the saturday as with no brakes made it diffcult to drive!

Now i got the Wave Motors and just waiting on the programmer to arrive so i can update the software.

4.2......think i need a bigger pinion!
