Is there a particular motor you would recommend?

I've played around a little with the different types as you've mentioned, but is there a 'Hot Ticket' motor at the moment? any outstanding models at the moment?

I've got a great Yokomo Motor at the moment, one of the T-max motors, and an awesome Luna. I've only really had experience with those and Atlas motors...

I've heard the Orion motors are good, Katana is it???

WHich models would you recommend, atlas force series??? or a different atlas model? or the Orion motors.

Cheers,

Robbie

Hi i am running a yok flt and am wondering what brushes would be great for all out power.
I run on a oval short track 18m corner to corner 15m wide with 1.8m lanes.
We only run short races maximum of 40 laps.

Know the hard part my car is a tc3 weighing in at 3.7kgs no that is not a typo. I am currently running peak sprint brushes and the motor is geared 22/72 for a total ratio of 8.18. I use either foam or rubbers depending on the surface, which can range from wooden floor to polished concrete.
A photo of the car can be seen at rc stockcars and yes that is a steel frame around it. Mine is on the far left with 2nz down the side.

Any other motor recommendations would be good also, 23t fixed timing
Thanks Doug

wow! demolition derby sort off the yok brushes that came with the motor are good. However, i normally change to Atlas high silver brushes. If you try google search .... there's a site called motortuningsectets or something pretty close to that. This thread has some pretty decent tricks about brush centering yada yada ....but they are somewhere in the middle

Can anyone tell me about the Atlas Force range?

I'm tossing up between an Orion Katana and the Atlas force, looking for lots of power+ torque in either motor.

Which one would/do you go for?

Any help will be appreciated,

Cheers,

Robbie

Use Reedy 729 for standup brush or Reedy 766 for laydown

I believe the Excel Fireblade is the same as the Orion Katana,

I used one on the weekend at MECA to get 2nd in Stock,
and just changed the brushes to XXX laydown,

Talking My opinion only leh

any1 tried the very old sport tune mabuchi by tamiya? im still using it and will be using it for competitions , especially for longer runtime event with open stock challenge. which i found this can is cooler then the rest, can cope up with latest can and longer runtime with scalable speed performed. most of its cheap . what i found out, it can only be use with mid range track. any track with 30-40 meter straight will do great with this primitive fella.
anyway, my fav are still on Yoks SR and FSR. short circuit will be the ST type.

Just wondering if near future, these stocks can use the V2 endbell. i found it, VERY interesting.... longer then brushless in running time .

Hi guys. The Tamiya Nationals are coming up and the handout motor is going to be the 23t RR motor. I was wondering if you guys that have experience with this motor could share some info; such as gearing, brushes, and springs, thanks.
