35m straight.
tz 5.6~5.8
rz 6.1~6.4

that should get you in the ball park..ech motor is a bit different ...but the TZ was a better performer as far as lap times were..it felt better all over the track..

Default Dave

Thanks for the info. Have you tried the Orion Speed Demon TS motor? How does it compare to the Katana TS? And how does the Katana compare to the Tamiyas? Thank again.

Hi Dave! I see you have a Kawada VS-R motor. How do you find it? I have one too but I can't seem to get it to run well. How is yours doing? What springs and gearing are you using? Please be patient with all my questions but I feel there's no one better to ask than the 23 turn motor guru.

Rice: I am a far second to you. Hehehehe!!!!!!

I find it to be very fast!! I gear mine in the 5.8 range with a track that has a 35m straight.. but I have gone to 5.6 at times..as for the springs I use a lighter oneon the negative side

Similar but the newer Katana TS has 3 less laminations on the rotor stack and the bushings are newer like the new Yokomo 23T motors
but as far as performance is conserned(SP?)..the TS katana has a slight bit more RPM but the Torque is the same

6.33..????? How big is the Straight at your track.??? You might be under gearing that motor... I was gearing mine at 5.8 a couple of days ago with no problems in heat and such... the Straight at my track is 35m

Default Dave,

Geared my TZ last night at 5.8+ and lacked a bit of infield punch. Tried 6.0+ and found it much better all around. Fast on the straight and punch in the infield. Rice and I were both fast all around. Track straight was 35 meters with a 28 meter back straight and a tight infield. Will try a one tooth smaller pinion next time.
