got my js up and running again for usgt .......love this car ive had it for awhile for vta tough and handles the infield like a $400 car

Slo_E4 04-23-2011 09:37 PM

Looks Like I found my thread :D... Anyone know any more new's on the '11? Any kind of release date yet? Glad to see the E4 being upgraded!

Evoracer 04-23-2011 09:49 PM

Take a look at Rc Infos previous posts. 39 changes will be included in the new version. I believe they're aiming for release sometime later in the summer. Shame you're not closer; you could come race with us and my E4FS.

Slo_E4 04-23-2011 10:00 PM

Yea I have read almost this whole thread already...:D I knew all that... The pics come up in a google search too. I was just wondering if there was any "new" info... It's pretty much summer now... Man I wish I was closer to ya... It's pretty hard to find an E4 driver...

Evoracer 05-03-2011 02:42 PM

Man, as much of a fan of Tamiya products as I am, I just can't get over how the new TA06 resembles the E4. Sadly, I believe the E4 is still a better layout. The TA06 servo location and the way the ESC mounts just looks like carnage waiting to happen. Interesting chassis though but I think I'll stick with the E4. The best of the unknown chassis !!

Jochim_18 05-03-2011 11:38 PM

Not even close.

Pro10noob 05-04-2011 12:37 AM

Amen:D
The TA06 isn't even near the performance of the E4RS.

I was actually stunned to see Tamiya use the side mounted main belt and the front belt. I understand why they're using the geared drive in back but , for many, that means more things to go wrong.
I truly wish more effort would be made to promote the E4. Everytime I even think about trying something else or going back with my trusty old XXX-S, I look at this chassis, realise how well laid out it is and just how easy it is to work on, and suddenly the idea of changing simply doesn't make sense. It really is a great design.

Never meant to be.

The new car.

Didn't mean to make a direct comparison in performance expectations BUt given the similarities in design AND Tamiya's normal chassis evolution process, one can only guess a higher level TA06 might come about. Considering the E4 has been around for awhile....it's just my opinion that it's a better overall design and ahead of it's time apparently.
Dude, whats with the new identity ??? The 'other" Barry White was a long timer on RCTECH.

This is a thing that every E4RS driver can do himself. On my cars, I place the M3x6mm screws to join the RF and FR suspension mounts inside the bulkhead, not outside. So, the suspension mounts are totally free to move up/down, the screw is only a "guide" for them. It's a great difference on the rear, where flex is more better this way. I also use plastic rear bulkheads when I need more flex.

Could you post a picture of this? I am thinking of dusting of my E4RS and this sounds like something I would want to do.

man that sucks

i wish i didnt take the deal with top to run for them and still had my e4rs

Pro10noob 05-05-2011 10:29 AM

Sold my Top also.
Was fun to drive but a bit fragile.
Only thing i broke the last couple of races on my tTM where the "old" type front axles.
That was due to being hit by some one and then end up in the boarding or me making a mistake and gone flying:D:D.
Now with the new type i haven't got any trouble any more and the front is even more free then before.
With my Sakura i only broke one right steering hub and that was with very low temps.

regards Roy

Don't know if it's still available but try this:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...-car-sale.html

Wish I could help but all 3 of mine are E4FS. I'm about to get a 4th with a bunch of parts and a couple of partial cars. I can keep in touch if you're interested. maybe I can put together and sell a complete chassis.

Evoracer 05-23-2011 01:00 PM

Anybody heard any new news on the updated chassis release ?? I swear every time I drive this car and work on it I fall in love all over again. This car is just THAT good !!!! I will say one thing....WOW what a difference the alloy front knuckles and rear hubs make. All that slop with the plastic parts is gone. I installed the Wolf Hobbies parts front and rear. SOOOOOOO much nicer.
Maybe I've just missed it but can anyone tell me if there is a better replacement piece for the drivers side rear chassis brace ?? You know the one that everyone dremels to get motor clearance. I just found that on one of my cars, the drivers rear upper deck screw can't tighten because the brace was dremeled a bit too much. Rather not go through the hassle if an already modified piece is available.

iPearl 05-23-2011 01:29 PM

You can get the metal piece. the shaped it a bit different.

You talking about the Stand up piece connected to the Belt tensioner on the side ?

Or run a motor that isnt over sized on the rear.
Novak Ballistic
LRP X12 (Alot of torque for this chassis on tight tracks)
Team Powers with 12.5mm Rotor (Found this to be the perfect balance)

And they all fit convertibly into the rear Pod with out any dermeling.

Pro10noob 05-23-2011 02:17 PM

Use the alloy part or better yet use the K factory lipo conversion.
It spaces the top deck a bit and gives you more clearance for the motor due to the shape of the side belt tensioner bracket.
You van also use the LRP X12 motors.
Depending on the rotor you use, you get a lot of rpms or a lot of torque.
I use the stock rotor in the LRP X12 13.5 and it is faster then a speedpassion and has more torque also.
I found only the Tekin motor reving higher.
Didn't try the new GM motor tho
That one has 3100RPM/V and 395Watts of power and is short enough to get in there.

Does anyone know where to get that rear shock tower spacer? Does yodog sell them? I'd really like to try one out...

iPearl 05-23-2011 04:57 PM

Hummm You mean the uprights or a spacer plate ?to move the shock towers back ?

cyrrus 05-23-2011 05:06 PM

hey guys I have a e5fs for ashpalt. well over the winter i took it apart then had to rush out. everything got mix with other stuff. due to a 3 year old mistakes. LOL... no big deal.

well my question is there a place i can make this car uptodate. for lipo and brushless. would love to have run this car more. first meet broke a read CVD. then took for ever for the replacement parts. would love to get this girl going again.

even with aluminum upgrades.

any help

i know i want to go to the dual bell crank steering.

so any help would be great.

Slo_E4 05-23-2011 06:37 PM

I believe he does. Just contact him via PM.

Thanks everyone regarding the upper deck mount question. Roy, I did notice the K Factory Lipo kit and wondered if it would be worthwhile. I think thats the way I'll go. Thanks All.

Evoracer 05-23-2011 06:50 PM

Cyrrus, curious why you think it needs to be "updated " for lipo or BL. Unless you have the earlier E4 , your E4FS should have no problem with most BL motors or Hard Case lipo's.

Pro10noob 05-23-2011 09:31 PM

I have it on the car and i am very happy with it.
Also got Yodog's rear suspension mount spacer on the car and believe it or not i am the only TM driver at our track that has understeer now.
Need to adjust my setup a bit so i can get me a bit more steering as i am loosing time in our tight infield now:D

regards Roy

If you still interested in a E4RS loaded with hop ups and spares i got one for sale.
It is a DE version without the alloy pulleys as they tend to wear to fast for my likings.
For the rest i got some shine alloy bits and a very smooth rear diff and believe it or not understeer:D:D.

Guys, is there any news of a new E4 coming out? It just seems like a while since Team Magic brought out any new stuff.

Slo_E4 05-28-2011 10:18 AM

Hey guys, I tried to order some red wolf front hubs from wolf hobbies, and they ended up out of stock, and they have no idea when they are getting them in from a new vendor...if anyone has them and would like to sell them send me a pm!!! Thanks guys.

Pro10noob 05-28-2011 11:58 AM

With front hubs you mean the steering knuckles?
If so, i know some one who has a pair and isn't using them.
He also got the red alloy bulkheads front and rear and isn't using them either.
Let me know if your interested and i will contact him.

regards Roy

Hey Roy, I'm sure thats what he means since Wolf never had red c-hubs available.
I get the impression we won't see those parts made again. Looks like K factory is the only source for alloy parts.
