Sad to say but Me and Yodog switch to associated TC6 to be competitive and the REEDY race running open MOD.. His still got some upgrade parts for TM E4 spacers, and lipo battery tray.. I'm not really sure his going to keep developing and designing prototype parts for E4.. But he might for the TC6 :nod:

One of the biggest issues with the E4 is parts supply especially options and the lack of aftermarket parts available through convenient sources economically. Kind of like OFNA cars where you'll get a good deal on the kit but will get burned on the parts.:mad: However, I would suggest that it is best that you keep up your efforts to produce parts for the E4 simply because you don't have much competitiion here. With the TC6, there will be plenty of others making options for it such that yours will go un-noticed. |
Just simply luck of development on the car we are running 3 years old design I know their is a new car coming out but you just can't wait forever. Me and yodog tried to keep the car on it's phase but simply we just can't be competitive enough to race in a big event such as the REEDY race. We run the E4 on few club races at norcal hobbies prior to REEDY race the car just can't keep up with phase of a current modern TC so we both decided to switch car. With TC6 we quickly pick up the phase and some what competitive in the Open MOD class just got beat by a better driver lol..

Just an observation: I don't care what anyone say's..... the Tamiya TA06 is most definitely VERY similar in design to the E4. I think it's a shame that TM or WH didn't ACTIVELY support this car in recent times. Now the cats out of the bag. Unless TM makes some sort of huge splash with the new version of the car.....it'll be extinct very soon. Sad !

I have no problem using my Zippy Flightmax 4000mah hard case packs. All 3 cars are FS models. I actually use some foam tape on the drivers side of the battery tray to keep the battery towards the center of the chassis. I'm surprised your having problems with anything under 4000mah but shimming the deck will certainly work.

If you want to run the bigger/higher amps lipo,you can use the K-factory lipo conversion kit as i do.
I can fit the LRP 5300MAH in there without any problem. regards Roy |

Dont give up the car! There ways make the E4 to work with ur batteries. I'm currently using a 6000mAh 60C lipo. All you have to do is raising upper deck by 1 or 2 mm (depends on battery), trim the front pulley holder down, and at last, level the front battery tray, including the screw holes. All you need is the rear screw holes which will keep the battery in place. You can even use batteries with dean plugs.
I'd been driving X-rays and been looking for something different for a while. On carpet track with foams, my E4 is much better and responsive then my T3 and TCX. There's potential on this car. It's all about your setup |

i got my pack to fit it was a pain im the a$$ but its in cant run it yet as one of the arms are cracked so i need to get some

Why do you need extra low arms??
Do you use to long springs? The RS arms(new type now) are low enough to do the job:D About the K-factory parts, the E4 Alum. 7075 Middle Shaft Mount (k2103) isn't all that needed. It is nice and bling bling and perhaps gets you car up to weight without adding some lead to it:sneaky: but it is also expensive. Give me a hoaler about the bulkheads as you know i can get my hands on some red one for a lot less then the K-factory price:sneaky::sneaky: The 3 degrees alloy C-hubs might also be a option instead of the middle mount. regards Roy

Front arms are all the same as far as i know.
Rear are different between the FS and RS if they are still the original arms. Also the alloy part in the arms are gone with the new type. Nice car by the looks of it:) regards Roy |

Also I had flipped the steering crank around to get rid of bump steer. The guys at my track who where running the car more regularly than I was had real good results with that. Have fun with her and treat her right, she will be missed. |

Anybody have any news on the updated car ?? I keep looking at the TA06 but I still believe the E4 is a better design. I know in VTA and GT it's perfect. The tweaks in the upgraded version should make it a solid performer. Somebody give those folks at TM a kick in the ass so they don't drop the ball on this chassis. :nod::nod:

Don't get me wrong...I'm no Tamiya hater. In fact, it's the only NEW car I'd consider buying BUt....little things caught my attention like
1. No consideration for batteries that use banana plugs. 2. Wire routing looks even tougher than the E4. Anybody notice the pics of Satoshi's car where the battery wire is contacting the lower belt ?? 3. Even the Tamiya junkies are questioning the layout of the IFS. It just seems wrong. The angle of the shock lever is odd. 4. Compared to the E4, the chassis extensions for the servo and esc seem quite wide. I guess thats why they had to angle them upwards. Bottom line....the E4 is a really good chassis. Compared to many it's a breeze to work on and the layout just makes sense with little compromise. Little stuff already has fixes like that bulkhead at the left rear that makes motor movement a bit tight. It seems to me that the changes to the newest version will make the car even better. I think I'll stick with it. C'mon TM....give us your support. |

Okay, I love my E4JS again.:blush:
Last time I was so frustrated with it, I yanked out all the electronics and shelved it. I just installed a new main chassis and rear section and reinstalled all the electronics again. This time the Novak GTB fitted better up front next to the steering servo. Ran new wiring from the esc to the motor such that it doesn't interfere with the battery hold-down/ top plate. Shimmed the battery hold-down/ top plate and made some clearance on it with a Dremel so that it would fit my 5500 hard shell lipo. That and fixing the Ackerman setting on the steering crank made me happy with the E4JS again. Even more so, I had problems with the car driving straight. The car seemed to drift no matter how I adjusted the steering trim. Found the problem to be a bad rear wheel bearing. Checked all the wheel bearings, cleaned and lubed them and now its running great again. I guess I've neglected the car and have only myself to blame for my troubles.:sweat: Anyways, I will be running it this weekend against a TA06 and I'll see how it does. |

Hmmmmmmm, wierd as here in europe even with the ems shipping and so on we still are a lot cheaper when buying from RCM then from our LHS or Wolf. The US dollar has to be low for us so it would be worth to buy from Wolf. Don't get me wrong as Wolf got a lot of parts that i have on the car:lol: and i bought them when the dollar was ok for us. Now some one else is going to be very happy with the car as it is moving to the states:sneaky: regards Roy
