I have M05pro and would like to know what would be the advantage of the aluminium steering rack?

On Saturday, I took my car to the track for the first time and it was "skipping" a lot in the corners.

Rear: M-grip and blue springs
Front S-grip and red springs.

Carpet track.

What do you mean by skipping?

Firstly swap the springs around and give it a go! With the way you have it now you probably have lots of oversteer or you spin out on every corner.....is this what you mean by skipping?

Stock steering is okay if you don't hit anything, but will bend easily if you do. If you're not TCS racing, 3 Racing makes a steering set up that's pretty good for about 1/3 of what the Tamiya bits are. The Tamiya stuff is much sturdier and is TCS legal.

There are many hop ups that are totally useless like the aluminum motor heat sink. The only useful purpose for that thing is to act as huge washer for the motor screws. The aluminum steering rack is absolutely required except for the highly skilled who never hit stuff or each other.

being a newbie makes it hard this to explain but lets try...

in the corners,the rear wheels are "hopping (jumping)" instead of staying "attached" to the track.

Sway bar set can help the rear end.

Adding washers to eliminate some slop will also improve steering. Just make sure that there are no binding when doing so.

I might give it a try...

Eliminating some of the up and down play in the arms may, and I repeat, may, improve the steering response, but only until you whack something. Then something will bend, unless you are lucky. It's usually the right arm and if you've shimmed out the slop, it'll just make it worse.

The point I was trying to make is 3 Racings set up is around $20 and is worth the money. Tamiya's stuff is about $60 and really is only for the TCS racer. Why clip a barrier or dot and have your car go crazy???? especially in the middle of a race.

Just bought the 3Racings set up.

Does the M03 Sway bar set fit the M05? If not then what's the part # for the sway bar set for the M05? :confused:

hmm, might be why I can't figure out how the rear sway fits as I have the M03 kit?

Round the edges of your rear tires with a dremel or tire lathe. Try 3 hole pistons in the rear and yes a lighter spring will help. Insure that you dont have any binding when the shock is detached from the arm. also go with a little more camber if using adjustable rear control arms. Should do the trick but then again its a mini so if that doesnt work do the opposite :lol: just kidding those are good tips and the others above are also spot on

Yeah it is probably most difficult!
I havent even bothered putting the sway bars on mine. I have a feeling its more bling than anything else.
