HI we are some guys racing the silvercan tamiya standard motor. and 1600 from lrp. is it posible to get som more speed from the car with this stuff. i got a lrp qc1 spedo, futaba 3pk with spektrum and a futaba 9450 servo. my car handel really well but in the fast part of the track i am after. what can i do?
Btw i had a tires on the car but after 2 years of racing the tires was so bad that the foam was visible. Here is it nearly impossible to get tires to the car that is the rason i had my tires that long. But i ask my lokal dealer about the tires and he answer my that i has order it. and it never comes. and he rekomend me m tires.:nod:yes he did. i needed tires in that moment so i bought them. what other tires can you rekomend. we are racing at a low traction asphalt. pre glued would be nice but other will work to |
Tony thanks for the help on the diff. works great.

Anywhere to get the Team Powers mini tires in the USA? What foam thickness would be best for relatively high-grip treated asphalt? Tamiya 60D Type A slicks traction roll like crazy on our track.
|
Traction roll is caused by too much grip. I think the Team Powers tyres will give you more grip than 60D's. Perhaps you should look to try something like Tamiya s-grips or m-grips. I believe they are preferred choice on high grip carpet. Even kit tyres may work but will wear very quickly.
|
Ahhh, I thought that the Team Powers slicks in a 36 would be less grippy than the Type A...perhaps not. I tried the 3racing mini tires and liked them a lot while they were new, but they wore out very quickly. Who cares at $8.33 for four including foams though.
Do you have a link for info on S-grips and M-grips? Are they still 60D? |
Also with the 60D tyres they are a lot higher compared to team powers or ride etc so that helps with traction roll.

For high grip asphalt, nothing beats the Rides. You'll need to play with compounds and inserts tho. If you can find them HPI X-patterns with a cut touring car insert also worls well.
|
Top end is over rated. Like Tony gray has said in the past we have found that the smaller tires more than make up for their lack of top end by their handling in the in field. That plus the fact that you dont have to toe out (which scrubs speed) like 60D tires to get steering.
As for the HPI X pattern ... out of production ... but I have good stock if you want to freight from Australia :D |

Maybe the combo is to get a red dot myself and then effectively gear it down with 55Ds....hmmm... Like the Pirelli ads say " Power AND Control".:nod::nod: |
