So true, but it's really impressive in how much ones driving improves when the car is set up right. Practice with an ill handling car does very little to improve ones driving ability. All it does is lead to frustration and the loss of someone to the hobby. Frankly, and I'm not saying this is true of you, whenever I hear this advice , it's coming from someone who's not willing to give some poor guy who's struggling a hand.

Generally, better advice might be to seek out someone like Calvin and get him to help you on your setup or even to have him drive it and get his input. By the way, glad you made it back Calvin. At my track, there are very few guys that won't give someone a hand and I'm sure this is true at most tracks.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but this practice, practice and more practice crap just gives me a pain. You're just one of too many who spout this drivel. Thank God that Kevin, Craig, Mark ,Devin, Micheal, Chuck, Brandon, Steve, Dennis and others at the track and Pms from Calvin, Ray K and others didn't just tell me to go practice with the pieces of junk I was trying to make go fast.

Sorry, nothing personal, but I'd just heard that line one time too many.

So true, I was struggling with my mini. Granpa let me drive his mini and give me valuable pointers. This makes the hobby so much fun. Thanks Granpa

Yeah its not only a waste of time for learning its also no fun when you are doing donuts or tipping over every second corner while people are whizzing past.

When is the release date of the M06? Does the M06 use the 21 tooth pinion?

Well, the header card says RED PLATED, but the ones sitting here at rc-mini HQ sure look PINK to me...

Plastic rear hubs

Are the plastic rear hubs on a standard M-05 known to be weak?

I seem to have bent my right rear (at least, I assume I bent it because the car ran in a relatively straight line last week :weird:) - it has a good 3 degrees more toe in it than intended!

Can I replace it with a new plastic one, confident that it will last more than one race meeting this time - or should I invest in the aluminium versions sooner rather than later?

If so, I have no knowledge of any weakness; I believe they're either the same or very similar to M03 ones, and having never damaged one of mine, I'd say continue with plastic unless you choose to play with the various toe-in options available on the alloy items.

The only things I've ever damaged on the rear suspension of my cars (after some pretty serious whacks) have been the axles or the arm pins, resulting in them being a little bent, and easily replaced.

So, having said that, maybe check all the metal lower arm pins (the ones that screw in on the standard car) as they do bend after a heavy shunt.

I broke both rear lower arms on mine. OK the car is not meant to roll over and bounce on its rear... The things that broke were the attachment points for the rear dampers, the screws are very short so very little thread goes into the plastic. I must see if I can replace the screws with longer ones. I use the 3racing dampers.

I ordered new plastic onepiece units from rcmart.

I could not find the lower arms in Aluminium are they still available?

I ordered alu uprights for the rear at the same time as mine looked suspicious with a very large toe in on one side compared to the ohter side.
