Keyence Rapida Pro and K.O. VFS. Very important are different capacitors for both low and high speed performance improvement.

Personally i always use the futaba low profile servos. You can usually get them for a decent price, and long term you are better having a decent servo for the cost.

As MD said bearings a must.
Oh also upgrade the stock servo saver, either tamiya high torque, kimborough or something suitable....

After that i would consider some of the following not necessarily in this order.
* Alloy steering rack (often comes in two parts)
* TA-03 Ball Diff (i dont like M05 one) but sakura are coming out with an oil filled gear diff probably soon and if its legal for you i would DEFINITELY wait for feedback on that once available, if you are short of cash.

From there:
* Shocks, note if you use the kit shocks make sure you build them right like on the notes on www.rc-mini.net Look in the M03 pages.
* Universals are a popular choice

When I first saw the M05 ball diff, I would have agreed with you. Since I'd purchased the damned thing, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. It was assembled using Antiwear grease on the diff balls and some in the thrust bearing. The tiny little diff screw scared me so did not try to get it as tight as a TA03 diff. It's been in a my 05 for close to a year now with no problems and is still very smooth and doesn't diff out. Tightened it once, but thats all the maintenance it has required. Does the TA03 ball diff give you a performance advantage???? Well maybe, but then maybe not.

Not disageeing with you, just relating my experience with the M05 ball diff.

But the M05 stock shocks are way different from the M03 stock shocks... can't really reference the M03 for it.... I would probably get the bearings and shocks first.

Then maybe steering rack.

Hey fellas, just a quick one, can you fit a 4000mah lipo in the battery tray on the m05 chassis?

Just wasnt sure as its rounded of to suit a nimh stick pack buy the looks of it.

You can not fit a regular lipo pack inside the M05 but never fear, Duratrax makes a wide range of lipo stick packs to cure this issue. I've seen 2s 25c 2000-4000mah lipo stick packs available. I own 1 of the Duratrax 2s 25c 4000mah lipo packs and it has been a great battery up to this point. I plan on picking up a 2nd pack after the holidays.

Intellect make a 4200 40C lipo that fits in a Mini.

They also make a new 3800 50C with Corally plug that also fits in a Mini

We run Intellect CS4000 20C on our minis.
As far as we found out there is no difference between 20C and 40C in mini since we use ezrun 13T. Enough juice goes through the esc with 20C.

If you won't use the batteries in other cars then the cheaper ones will do just fine... :rolleyes:

These work great, only thing is the balance wires are too stiff and breaks, I had to take out the cells and resolder the wires on lots of pack at the track.

On another note, whats needed to run the TA03 ball diff? Just the diff or do I need out drives and shafts to suit?

Just trying to get all the stuff ready for when the chassis shows up.
