Some of you are missing the whole point of the mini class. All the kits and RTRs come with a silvercan motor. The class is there to allow new people to get an inexpensive car on the track and get hooked on Rc racing. Like it's been said before, if you want a different motor, run a different class.

Motor
I like the idea of the stock silver can but as we all know there is alot of varriance between 2 motors. Why cant Big T Just make a tuned motor where they are all the same like batteries matched cells?

One thing to consider before changing thing is that Mini is probably the biggest class in the TCS under the current rules.

C'mon, the only thing that's the same on a kit car with a silver motor is the color of the motor. Now if there is a beginner mini class and sportsman/expert class that would be the case.

How many would like to be running faster cars IF there was a legal Tamiya class? Because when we are there practicing, all of the cars are much faster than stock and it's not only because of their dialed handling/tire packages. My favorite thing to say on the stand when practicing minis is: "No fair passing on the straight"! :lol::lol: Probably cuz mine is as slow as a stocker. |

Good ol Granpa always gives me a break on the straights, he waits to pass me on the infield fair and square.

I raced mini several times this winter and it was great fun. Everyone ran silver cans. One guy put in a 17.5 and he still couldn't win. He was fast but didn't drive consistently well.
