M04 Pinion size?
I'm just waiting for my EzRun 35A / 13T combo to arrive, but was wondering about what pinion size I should use.
It looks like the M04 only lets me run a 17T, 20T or 21T pinion. A 17T came with my kit, so I was just planning on using that one. Will the 17T be okay? And what size (teeth wise) is the Spur? And is there anyway to change out the spur size? Since it seems to be built into the gear box, I would guess that answer is No, but figured I'd check anyway. |

the spur can be changed if it is the same gearbos as the M05/M03
there is a speed tuned gearset from 3Racing and . . . . http://shopping.rcmodel.hk/advanced_...ort=3a&&page=5 (the 4 items half way down from Tobee ) i have no idea how they work as i am yet to buy them the 3Racing ones are a bit hard and after a few batterys they start to get a bit noisy !!! |
The m03 and m05 use the same gears in the tranny. Those gears look interesting. They appear to be just a gear and clip in the bag. I wonder what they attach to or how they are installed. Anybody used these gears yet?

How do keep from crushing the thrust bearing, I TIGHTENED mine down firmly once and the thrust bearing didn't even last for one run.

Yes I have it on my M03. Although you do have to trim the wheel wells out a lot to fit 60D tires.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1126112900.jpg I have other tires that have a smaller diameter. |
