The reason, I believe our diffs loosen at windsor is the surface grip.
Higher loads transferred from the tyres. More resistance to turning.
You start the night well and then as the racing progresses, your exit drive diminishes....

I hust thought it was my lack of talent that caused my diminishing performance through out the night :lol:

It depends on your car as to whether it alters much during the night.
The track grips up , as more rubber get laid down. Staying on the racing line helps too ,as there are marbles off it.

I did my fastest lap in the final , with a lack of drive on the infield.
You have an M-05 right ?

My car is very easy to drive .

I use the 3racing shocks and springs.universal shafts.
Tamiya ball diff.
Uprights and camber links are back to kit.

I have built the TAO3 ball diff stock standard, however I still have stripped the spline in the diff. I think as I said it is because the O ring compresses and allows the universal to not put as much pressure on the diff cup, which allows it to semi move out of the spline. With the BL system that spline gets chewed out quickly.

It is a shame that the quality of some of the components in the new Tamiya Ball diff is not up to their usual standards. As I stated since using the red gel loctite I have not had the diff come loose. I did hit a couple of domes last night at full noise and the diff is still the same.

Naah it's just you Cal...between the 3 of us we've done ONE set of splines in the 12 month period since we've been running brushless... :lol:

I've mushed splines too.

Is there a direction you always put the diff in tony, ie the "loose" hex to the left or right?

The gear itself is always to the r/hand side of the car (as viewed from above).
Which puts the 'loose' hex to the left I think.

Need help !!!
 

Hello every was wondering whats are the basic and need to do to improve my M-05 ive been have problems with fliping of the coners ? :confused:

Does anybody know if the Tobee spur gears fit on the m05? If so which pinions do you need to run?

since the gearbox is exactly the same between the M-03 and M-05 the tobee spur would fit. I haven't run it so couldn't help with the pinion size but I'm sure someone who has run it will chime in soon enough.

At the risk of inciting yet another flame attack like last time :lol:

I'll advise you that the Tobee gear sets are rather poor quality, and in my opinion are not worth wasting your money on.

My car was SLOWER than stock and the noise from the gears is louder than a Nitro car....

Looks like I'll be sticking with the stock gear set. Not worth grinding gears to get no results. Just trying to get the top end up. Does double stuffing the fronts make a noticeable difference on top end?

driftmonkey: I had the same problem with my mo5. What i did was to glue the tires to the rim. Both sides of the tires. I use 40w oil, and yellow springs in front, 30wt oil and blue springs in back. I have the rear just a little higher
than the front so as to let the rear come around in the corners.
I use "M" grips all the all around. It seems to work for me. All cars are going to be different. I hope this helps.

i have got the 3Racing set in my M03 and it works very well now

i screwed one of them up using the in my M05 but after fitting the second one to the M03 i see what my problem was , i prosumed that when you use the 20,22,24 tooth pinions the dont go in the 16.18,20 tooth holes respectavly

i found the 20 tooth goes in the 18 holes and the 22 fits the 20 holes , the car is much quicker on the straight and quiet !!!

the Mrs has crash tested them for me too and still in one piece
