Tamiya mini cooper
kinda "off topic" here, what about the M04L. have always regreated not getting one back in the day. Do most the the part transfer over to these? the car would be set op for doing some hot laps, they dont have a mini racing class out here

Just getting out there with a mini is a good start to getting others interested and might bring more out to race.
JustMe2,
Here is a link to a e-bay shop that I use that has the Chevron Mini Monster body. I purchased two from here previously and the shop is highly recommended.

Thanks to all for the links and good advice.
Calvin,
Reading through the many pages it seems you say a car that understeers, has better rear grip, is the right set up? I ask because I notice people useing treaded tires(HPI X pattern) in the front and slicks in the rear. Both of our new to us cars will need tires soon so I am open to suggestions. Also, does wheelbase make a difference, one better then another? We will be racing on a new carpet track.
Thanks.

Has anyone tried any of the HPI Cup Racer bodies on their Mini-Coopers yet. I doubt that they would work on the M03 chassis, but I bet they would work on the M05 chassis.
They fit on M04 and medium length M03 and M05
Anyone have a good solution for preventing the shoulder screws from backing out of the front upper arms?

Sure: machine screws and shock sleeves (the short cylinder that fits into the bottom of older plastic Tamita shocks...or the kingpin sleeves from MO3R's...or just a short piece of brass tubing). The sleeve rotates in the hole instead of the shoulder, so the screw stays screwed into the link. Have to use new upper links because the self tapping feature of the shoulder screw makes the hole too large for good contact by the much shallower machine screw.
BTW, my butt smells like rabbit. Is there a connection?

here's a silly question, but I saw this done over the weekend and was wondering...
has anyone tried running a Tekin B1 (the 18th scale speedo) in the M03/M05?? I know guys have run the B1 with 27t stockers in 12th scale, and I saw it used (and used VERY well) over the weekend with a silver can in a F104
so it made me wonder if anyone tried it in the M03/M05 with a silver can?
