The Exige system from SpeedPassion might be entry level but boy is a lot of fun in a Mini :)
I used it a little in various cars and over the last 3 months then loan it to a few club guys and freinds to try out. Everyone loved it and only complaint from the Mini guys was there tyres where not lasting as long as they used too :) I sponsored a system for a Drift competition and the winner fitted it in to a ABC genetic chassis and its awesome. My gripe is you need the optional programmer for the throttle profile since the car hesitates a bit as it gets going and then its like it hits 2 bar boost but only if you plant the throttle.If you smooth with the throttle it accelerates well with out a issue, looks like a launch control of sorts on std setting. For the price they awesome value. |

I was just wondering as Castle Creations has a firmware update for the Mamba 25 to allow it to run brushed motors! :D I am currently trying this out in my Crawler with a 55t lathe motor and it has been working so good in the limited time I have been running it. Been thinking about trying it out with a Silver can setup in my Mini. :D Another question I have is what is the amp output on the Speed Passions esc? Can't find any info on that. |

the Sport tuned JR SP motor is a 3000kv, the Sport tuned Pro SP motor is 3300kv.

Is bump steer a common problem on Tamiya M03?

If your suspension is set-up correctly bump steer shouldn't be an issue at all.
A well set-up Mini will only use a few mm of travel, and over that sort of distance bump steer is virtually non-existent anyway. It only looks bad when you're holding the car in your hand and moving the arms up and down. On the track it has virtually no effect. |

I just fixed in Tamiya sport tune motor ( Black cans ) on my MO3M. Question is do i need to lube/oil into this motor or just run as its is. thanks for the advised. Cheers |
always a good idea to lube the motor bushes with bushing oil or 0w30 motor oil.

Hey guys, took my MO3R out this weekend for a bit of fun... and unfortuantly ended up breaking the top off one of the blue shocks :cry:
TBH, I don't care much for plastic shocks, I've had endless problems with trying to get them apart to change the settings. The tops are just incredibly stiff, and mean I have had to use two sets of pliers to get them undone... not good. IMO, TRF shocks, whilst a little more expensive, are certainly the best way to go... if only from a maintence point of view if not on track performance. Still breaking the shock gave me an excuse to finally fit my spare set of TRF's from my tourer to my mini, and I realised in that in fact they really aren't that much longer overall in comparison to the mini CVA's anyway. The body may be longer, but the top is shorter, so overall length is very similar. Also took the opportunity to mount my electronics in the chassis, managed to fit the Tamiya ESC into the rear halves, and my KO 302 reciever into the front part, right behind the chassis. Set it up so that to change the crystal all I have to do is undo the 4 screws holding the front and rear together. I'll post some pics later if anyone is interested. Looking forward to getting the Mini back on track this weekend... was a massive improvement last time out, and I've made some more changes, so itching to try it again... almost tempted to run it in the 27t class against the 4wd's to just see how it goes ;) Regards Ed |
