Okay everybody...
I am a Mini veteran, but a brushless newbie. Does anybody here run brushless in their Mini? I was thinking of buying this Novak system: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXRST8&P=SM I have 2400mah NiCd batteries right now... Are they good enough? Would I have to go with LiPos instead? I don't want to buy all new batteries. I am assuming brushless motors and ESCs use less power. Keep in mind I am not a serious racer.... my friends and I are bashers that get together & race our Minis in parking lots. They want me to be the brushless ginea pig... if I am successful.... they say they will make the switch too! |
Hey Scion--I also am a Mini basher and run my Mini in parking lots in Stockton. I am running a Castle MambaMax 7700 in my Mini w/2s LiPo and it sits on foams. I made a clone of the Suziki Swift in RCCarAction and the thing flies! I can get at least 40+ out of it and (if) i could keep it on the ground for 5 sec. i could get closer to 50mph. Novak is excellent stuff and the price is a bit better than the Mamba. Either way if you don't invest in LiPo check out the 4200 batt--almost as much power, almost as much top end.

Hope this helps. |
Is there an alternative to the trusty Silver Can and Sport-Tuned?
You bet there is... Click here to check out the full story http://home.iprimus.com.au/anthonygr...Passion02s.jpg |
Excellent write-up on the Speed Passion!
I have made up my mind and will jump into brushless with the Mini. The variance in RPMs from one black can to another is irritating. :tire:Now I just have to decide between the Speed Passion and the Novak.:tire: |
Over here thats not an issue, the Speed Passion is half the price.....

I think Mamba Sidewinder w/ 4600 motor is perfect for Mini.
http://www.gpmd.com/image/c/csem7703.jpg What is the part # for that piece of fiberglass brace? http://www.rc-mini.net/MiniWeb_Onlin...p/IMAG035A.JPG |
4600 is equivalent to a 12turn modified! A little too much grunt for a Mini methinks! :)
That brace comes with the M03R kit (and also with the TL01 lightweight chassis kit) and it's not an easy one to get hold of. The number for it on the parts listing is 58221. |
