Mainly preference. I've never run the long wheelbase...just the 210 mm (Cooper) and the 225mm (Swift). I can tell you in theory the 210mm should be good for small to medium tracks having better tight track manners. The 225mm should be a good all around car and the 239mm should be a good large flowing track car. Now with that said, it's pretty much just preference. I tend to like the way the Cooper 210mm handles. For me it seems a little more nimble than the Swift.

SWB = lots of steering (great for tight tracks)
MWB = good overall balance
LWB = pushy (great for long flowing high speed tracks like TamiyaUSA)

They are pretty cool cars. Back in the late 90's I had both the Xpress mini Pro and the 962KGTO Xpress. They were very fast, but very different to the Tamiya minis. These are pure race cars and handle just like a full size sedan. My only concern now would be with RCMart...they seem to be the sole distibutor and there customer service is sketchy.

I was the ONLY M04 in the A main when I won the 2006 TCS National. Oh and the only M04M to run in the mains.
Back In 2004 when I won my 1st TCS National I was running the M03L. The M03M was not released yet.

As for the M03 I think the swift (M03M) offers the best platform. you get the "M" extension from the tree that has the newer suspension parts. I never liked the feel of the short wheel base car. But I love the way the M car feels.

Interesting that you say that because we get a large percentage of our stuff from them. Never had a moments trouble.

However...I think what it comes down to is that any shop selling in huge volumes (R10, RC Champ, RC Mart) is inevitably going to mess it up sometimes aren't they..

I'll be getting a new Express but I'll wait for the Pro. Hmm, that'll make 12 4WD minis on the bench then....

I too will wait for the pro version. For weeks they have been listing / stocking spares for the cars. They haven't invested this $ for failure. I 'm sure they will have many hop-up parts as time moves on.
I'm having great luck with RC Mart. $20 bucks for shipping most of the time, but hell it's coming from HK to Wash DC in a week. An Express Pro with Novak Brushless and Monster Mini body should be quite a package:nod:

I just installed an orion 3200 li-po in my mini. can't try it till track opens on Sat. Mini web site says they didn't notice any big changes in handling. My set up will lift the inside wheel on the tight corners and wonder if the lighter weight would make it more susceptible to traction rolling. Maybe stiffer front springs???? Running the short reds right now.

Li-po's for practice only,but they are so much more economical in the long run that I couldn't resist. Nimh for racing---- my set up works fine for them

When I ran the carbon 3200 Lipo, I noticed the car lifted and tipped more. I think it would make the car more susceptible to traction rolls though I catch it before it does roll. If your running on carpet to me reds are too soft. Try stiffer springs.

We're now running a strip of lead weight inside the hollow section on top of the Carbon Lipo. Brings the weight up to more similar to a normal pack...
