TA-03 DIFF

Ran my M03-M Swift for the first time last night. I'm running the black tin Tamiya Sports motor and TA03 ball diff in it and had a great time. The car has a bit of bump steer, which I'll fix with a different servo horn. Loved the way the car went, drove it like how I drive my 415, and seem to go pretty well, but you have to be really sensitive with throttle movement in corners. With mine the rear end will step out if you get off the throttle too quickly. Plus need to shoe-goo my screw in the diff, damn thing kept coming loose.
Great little car, can't wait to race it more. |

On the front arms of the M03 FWD....if I move the ball stud from the back position to the front...what effect will that have on the handling of the car?

I am assuming you mean the 2 options on the front steering knuckles? Using the back holes will make the steering smooth and linear. The forward holes will make the car mor aggressive and have much better turn in. I always use the forward holes.

Probably part of the reason it's stepping out is because you shouldn't drive it like a sedan. You need to be more linear in the corners. The name of the game in mini is corner speed. And to keep all the speed you can you need to be smoother in the corners.

When your assembling the stock gear diff...the shims you use next to the output bevel gears as your assembling it. I personally use 2 on each side instead of the 1 described in the instructions. Here is a pic of the parts. The washer looking pieces are the shims.
