Thanks for the reply. Looks like a touch over 7mm of total shock travel (no internal limiting) with 1mm of droop. The springs are Tamiya blue and at full extension they still have a bit of pre-load on them.

I use shocks from a Schumacher Mi4 with short Tamiya springs in my mini. My son runs Tamiya shocks. Both are good quality.

I'd say get any decent brand shocks, the short Tamiya springs and you should be ok.

There is an inconsistency in the molding of the recess for the steering posts, Tamiya have released instructions that a 0.3mm shim be added to the left side mounting (looking from the front).

Hmm

Does this inconsistency applies only in M05 V.2 or also applies to M05 V.1 ?

Another question, what servos are people using. I'm having issues with cheaper servos with plastic gears stripping and I just tried a tower pro mg996R and it simply stopped working after about 15mins. I dont want to spend heaps but I'm sick of these cheap servos.
I've been running the savox 1251MG in mine with good success - no failures after 3 years in the chassis

Yes, I did have to shim left to right differently.

Only on the v2. However a careful car builder will always be on the look out for tight spots.

Hi, I've been racing mini for a couple of years now and have to say I'm totally hooked... Also been reading this thread for years now and just lovin' it.

I've raced my M05 for some time now and looking for the next step... M05vII... I know where to order but WHEN?! I can't get a guarantee, only a notification of when the kits arrive when I ask the shop...

It's my first time trying to pre-order something so am I missing something? The question really is.... is there a shop that can guarantee me the product with a pre-order?

Patience my friend, or a plane ticket to Japan and a visit to Akihabara is what you need.

They'll be on the shelves worldwide soon. Japanese companies have this policy of satisfying the domestic market first and worry about exports later. Shops in HK are perhaps you best bet if you can't wait. Try the usual suspects, they're pretty reliable.

If you check, it is 3 x 0.3mm shims required to make the alteration for the steering.
Nearly 1mm of difference.
