I ordered some 3Racing shocks for my M03 and M05. The hobby shop sent me ones for a TT01 and have said they'll fit. Can anyone tell me if this us true to save me opening them up. I've measured the shocks in the cars end to end and they're 59mm, so I'm guessing that they may fit.

The standard pinion is a 20T 0.6mod pinion. Tamiya supply the pinion from #50356 in the kit but they are quite soft and you would be better off buying a harder alternative. RW Racing is one alternative.

Tamiya 53509 flourine coated 20T pinion... will never ever wear out

Hi guys,
Saturday I wanted to try my M05 Pro V2 first time on carpet.
Worked already quite o.k. for one lap.
Then I had high grip spin out all the time, even with very low corner speed.
Front just build up so much side grip, that the rear just canīt follow and flies around. Same was on my buddies M03.
So I want to get some ideas, how to adress this problem. I was using S-Grips with superglued sides, but it seems, that I even need to superglue the outer profile pattern?
I had no setup time left, anyway I wanted to race my M06 on Saturday...
I would appreciate your inputs, it seems that our carpet builds up very high traction...

Funny I broke a similar piece on my M06 during the last race. It's a first since I usually break the right steering knuckle. I now have 3 lefts and zero rights. They're made out of peanut brittle.
I so do not want to spring for the aluminiums. The minute I do, Tamiya will release a more flexible version on the current ones lol.

- Harder front tyres
- Stiffer front suspension settings (including the stand-up front shock tower if you do not already use it)
- Less front droop
- Tighter front diff
- Shorter wheelbase
You can also try the opposite on the rear end ie softer.

This is for the western Canadian guys - have any of you heard anything about Orca not producing the motor/ESC combo for the mini class anymore? The guy I deal with at a LHS in Edmonton has got me very interested in the mini class as an entry into carpet racing, and he told me just to go with the silver can motor for now until a decision gets made on what the new spec motor will be.
I just purchased the M05 v2 and I'm really excited to build it and test the carpet waters - there's been a ton of really awesome insight into setups in this thread, and much to the dismay of my wife, I spent the majority of my weekend reading and writing down notes. There's a ton of great stuff in here!

I believe WCICS is ORCA though, at least for this season.

Orca has committed to supplying WCICS with the 2200kv spec motors for at least this season and likely next as well. This comes from the Pres of WCICS who has spoken directly with a rep from Orca, not the Cdn distributor. There is a batch of motors being manufactured. The current combo will be discontinued, as there is a new version of the Spark ESC in the pipeline. There is no word as to when they'll arrive, but this is what I've been told.
I'd be disappointed to see the spec motors disappear, but I suppose it's inevitable in the long haul. The upshot would be having access to more revs would allow me to go to better quality, 55d tires, rather than the S Grips I'm burning through in 25-30 minutes.

That's good news. I know that I'm going to be a long ways away from being able to out-drive a silver can motor, but at least I'll be able to buy the same equipment that everyone else will be running.

So does anyone have the Orca Motor or combo in stock? Greathobbies.com has one but I just told a future club member about it so it won't last long. For us Canadian guys this is becoming an issue.
