once you get a slight amount of play between the blade and outdrive housing it will start to wear at a very slow rate, this happens to all gear/ ball diffs.
you either have to keep replacing blades so its snug, or just change the out drives every so often.

Two guys at my club have the M05 and both have the same problem. One rear tire is - Toe, the other is +. Their hubs are on the right side, same with the arms, hinge pins look straight. I couldn't figure it out so I thought someone here might have an idea. I thought maybe it's something curious about the mini, like the XXX4 having the arms labeled backwards.

Yeah I've never seen that kind of motor and esc before either. I have always used Castle Creations in my other RC's. What kind of Hobbywing motor and ESC combo would you recommend?

I just chewed up another gear in the mini, the plastic gear that the pinion rides on. Today in my M05, last weekend in the kid's M03. Both gears are the same pattern... half the width of the teeth are gone on the side closest to the motor. I verified pinion alignment in both cars after the M03 incident last week, yet had the same problem in my M05. Both time the motor screws were still tight. Same exact problem in two different cars. What am I missing here?

Hello bmr,
Did you use the same pinion in both cars? If it is the stock Tamiya offering, when they get old the teeth become serrated and sweep back. (The pinion will look like shark teeth). This will cause the damage you are describing to the mini spur gear.
I suggest using the Tamiya flourine coated 20 tooth pinion gear. The other option is that the motor may have moved or your have got debris into the car and it has damaged the spur. Worse case is the grub screw coming out of the pinion, however you would normally know that.

Thanks for the help again Calvin. I got my M05 lowered down and at the 225mm wheelbase now and she handles a lot better. Boy what a big difference than can make. But my problem is now that I'm running the 225mm wheelbase, my mini cooper bodies don't fit anymore cuz they are 215mm. What good bodies are out there besides the new proline and HPI bodies that fit the 225mm wheelbase?
And also does anyone know the part number for the front body posts?

It was two different pinions and two different motors. The M03 pinion was brand new. Maybe trash got in both cars. I couldn't find the flourine gear where I could get it in time for this weekend so I ordered a Robinson metric gear and a new gear set. I'll reload and try again!
