The CF chassis will give you more room and options but not a complete fix. I would think Tamiya is working on a narrower alloy rear bridge piece.

My question should have been does the kit come ready for ifs or is that purchased separately. The pics shown only show upright. And let me know how much to send for the kit and my money is happily yours. The last 4kits I have gotten from exotek have been nothing short of perfection.

Exotek products are distributed in the UK by http://www.dms-racing.com/ and once the EX06 is ready I will be shipping a batch out to the UK.

Thanks!

Hypothetical question here. If I have $450-500 to burn, why would one choose the TA06 and carbon chassis conversion, to a say a 417, TCX, T3?

I would think the TA06 Pro as a mid-level TC, the additional upgrade cost to carbon chassis would be difficult to justify staying at mid-level (since total cost would reach 417, TCX level etc.). I wish to try my hand in TC, maybe start out slow with a TA06. But if I were to move to the next level, I would cut my costs and get another kit car that was already full carbon.

Not trying to troll here, just would like to understand other owners ideas, expectations and aspirations with TA06. Cheers,

versus....

Mike, any news on the IFS parts? Can I order the chassis, IFS parts and pulley shaft all at the same time any time soon?

Just imagine the ESC mounted to the top deck!!! We're talking nearly 1210 grams with the shorter wires!!!!!

I bought the car for RCGT. I havent raced in years. regardless of the weight I think that properly setup this car can be very competitive. I was thinking of buying a 417 or s411 for TC and I am starting to have second thoughts. I think that unless you are really enamored with this car (as I was with its center battery placement and F1 inspired IFS suspension) then it would make sense to buy a 416/417.

You can do that with the stock setup but you would want this:

Hopefully the price of the Exotek chassis at $137.99 is going to come down given that you have to purchase shock towers and ifs setup separately. When comparing the Exotek to the VBC Racing you get everything from towers/ifs including an additional hex screw kit for $149.99...

I am still on the fence whether the looks and being different is really worth it w/ the TA06 Pro VBC Racing kit at $400. I mean you could buy a Mi4LP for $235 slightly used on RCTECH - I have even seen the Mi4cx on here for $250 shipped. Just something to think about... Decisions decisions....

I think most of us here run the Ta06 because either we are diehard Tamiya fanbois, or want to run a unique car capable of beating other highend cars. There is just no variance in chassis design these days. But I got to admit, Tamiyas been doing some weird things these days. Like the 4wd mini and the DB02...
