Here are some pics. If you look closely you can see where I cut the factory battery holders down to fit the lipo in tight. There are also two on the inside to stop it from moving in any.

EA, good stuff. If my club ever realizes it is the twenty-first century, I think that's the system I'll go with.

Are you direct-soldering the battery to the ESC? I thought that was against ROAR rules, though I may have imagined that part.

So the plastic modified battery cups are holding the lipo in place, and the tape is holding it down?

Can you clarify, is that a US or EU? Will this technique work for both?

Eded,

My next big race will probably be the IIC in Vegas...everything else just doesn't seem to be working out for me so far this year

As far as your question about the Novak Motors, one of the big "differences" is that we designed and tested everything in house from the ground up... we didn't just take something that someone else had and tweaked it.

I'm not saying other manufacturers haven't done their homework and contributed good ideas... I guess I'm just saying that we were sort of "the original" ...and as such we've had alot of time to test and try things out... so rest assured you're probably going to be getting a good motor if you buy one of ours... we try to produce the best product we can.

As far as my favorite wind motor... I almost always run a 3.5

Adam,

Yes it is direct soldered to the ESC. I have read the rules a few times and can not find anything about how its connected. I mean we direct connect nimh cells so I dont see an issue. I know guys were doing it at the carpet nats that ran Lipo.

Yes the cups keep it locked in and front to back and inside. The tape holds it down very well...Just make sure to use a good high quality tape.

It is the EU kit. I have not tried it on the US kit yet.

Thanks

Yes 4000 fits with no Mods but the performance is slightly less and when racing on a national level every little bit counts....Until I blow out and crash!

Default xray T2 008 US help

Hello.
I need some help. I just bought Xray T2 008 US but I’ll drive it on asphalt with rubber tires and brushless 8.5, 10.5 and 13.5 motors. I’m not a racer but I still like to have a good set up on the car.
Is there any chance to set up the car? I can buy some parts in order to upgrade the car for better performers.I’d like to use 48pich spur and pinions –any suggestion?
Thanks in advance for good tread and info which help me a lot to enjoy the hobby even more.

Does anyone have any of the US Foam kits left? Seems like everywhere I have looked is sold out.
