Hey Apex, what's cooking? While I am sure that Jason will be able to give a more in depth and accurate answer I will attempt to take an initial stab at it.

1. Notice that the front of the flex plates are secured by the post. This allows us to focus on how the rear of the flex plates are secured to the rear pod to keep the rear pod aligned.

2. The rear is secured by the flex plates "attachment" to each side pivot ball assembly via the middle set screw of each side pivot ball assembly. These are secured to the rear pod lower plate. Each flex plate appears to be further secured to the side pivot ball assembly by two smaller locater's (either a grub screw or molded part, I'm not sure) on either side of the middle set screw.

3. The center of the main chassis plate is attached to the rear lower pod plate via the center pivot ball assembly who's two sides are attached to the rear lower pod plate with the center attached to the main chassis.

In essence, where the rear part of a link cars' link would attach to the rear lower pod plate further out on the side is the same concept as this car accept the locations are moved inward some.

If this isn't correct I'm sure Jason will set it all straight. If I'm wrong just laugh it off. I hope this helps.

For a couple of pictures that might help check out these:

The center pivot is a given cause that's what allows for side to side and front to back movement between the rear pod and chassis.

What I'm trying to understand is how does the fixed piece of fiberglass (on the two side pivot points) allow for free side to side movement without binding?

The design is definitely very unique and maybe even revolutionary in 1:12 design. It's really a great design over spring cars cause it seems it would be very consistent as well.

the fiberlass flex plates are located on pivots where it conects to the rear pod.there are 3 rear pivots attached to the rear,1 on each flex plate and a central pivot.the front of the plates are fixed position.

I don't have the car in my possesion yet but this is how I see the rear pod working...

Where the T-bar is more twisted at the flex point, the L-bars are flexing straight up and down.
