Ran my car on saturday first time. Ran it in an outlaw race with other cars. I was dissappointed with the performance. I ran the stock setup with 37 shore 26mm foams all around. Car was the slowest from the start. Also with the front spool the car didnt want to turn. It was like rocking during the turns. The back would also give way when i tried to turn in the sharp turns.

What was your gearing like? I know at the last race my car was pretty slow, I had to increase the pinion to a 51 tooth with the stock 102 tooth in 13.5 to be competitive.

Spurgear, maybe post more of your setup so we can help you out... As Far as speed, that is all gearing and motor... so include that too...

For those that are looking for a Front Ball diff, I talked to Doug at SerpentUSA today, and he said they have some coming in.....

Paul

Are you running kit setup ? One thing I never have had issue with is rear end grip, if anything there is to much.

Are you running rubber or foam as well ?
Yes running kit set up on rubber, ashfelt track generally good traction.

13.5 should look at a 88 spur, 40 - 44 tooth pinion.

Novak We ran 44-88 on the pinion spur for 13.5 on foam. rubber would be a bit lower do to the taller tire.

Ok im using a mamba 7700kv with a 3200 lipo team orion lipo. Gearing is 102 teeth 64P with a 24 teeth pinion. The radio is a 3PK Futaba with HRS receiver. The ESC is also Mamba with all graphs setup linear. The tires are all 26mm 37 shore. Body is mazdaspeed 6 version. I will post pics today. Any more info required? Practice is this weekend. I have no idea what else to try. I tried fitting 30mm rear foams but it touches when it fits. Should i grind to fit it?

Spur,

We generally do not run Foams on asphalt around here. And I am not familar withthe mamba system, so I cannot give you gearing/rollout for that. Was the motor hot? did it seem like it came up to speed real quick, then went flat ? When you setup the speedo, was the radio EPA set to 120% ?

I would first see if taking a little droop out of the rear to stop the low speed oversteer. Is the car balanced ? ,from the pictures I do not think it is...

if you lacking overall bite, there are a million things to do.. but try starting out with laying the shocks over....

Hey all,

I'm thinking about the Serpent S400 to drift on indoor carpet tracks.

Car looks great and support here is great too. Belgium, right next too The Netherlands.
