Default Serpent to 1/10th EP Touring Kit S400

Serpent S400 to be introduced in July
During the 2nd part of 2006 Serpent began developing a high end competition 1/10th scale electric touring car and now, after many months of testing and development, we are very excited to announce our entry in this highly competitive RC car racing category, with our new S400 chassis.

Serpent is well known for its refined platforms in the very competitive 1/8th and 1/10 scale gas powered classes and our new 1/10th scale electric touring car is no different, featuring high quality components throughout and many of the innovations we pioneered in our near 3 decades at the highest level of RC Racing.

When designing the car we focussed on making a very clean, narrow and sleek design with a focus on easy handling, ease of set-up and maintenance while creating a strong and high quality product.

Features:
- 4wd Electric touring car chassis
- Ultra low center of gravity
- Very strong components
- High quality carbon fibre parts
- Anodised machined aluminium parts
- High-speed ball-bearings
- Fully adjustable suspension
- Front spool, rear ball-differential
- Low friction belts
- Durable transmission parts
- Pre-built RCC shock absorbers

Versions
The first version of the car will be aimed at outdoor use, for either foam or rubber tires, while before the indoor-season kicks off we will offer a carpet-based version, and a conversion-set, with a stiffer chassis and some other variations to turn it into a highly competitive carpet racer too.

During the next few weeks we hope to show you more details of the car.

Like anything else in R/C, be it Truggy, nitro on road cars, buggies both electric and nitro, and electric cars, you see one, you've seen them all. I think the only difference is the diameter of the screws, ball bearing sizes, the shock towers and the number of teeth in the belts. It is all starting to become blah blah blah. Team Magic and Losi are the only EP tourers outside of the box (they are hideous, but different). What are they going to do to revolutionize our hobby?

Almost, or the Kyosho Stallion. They are all starting to look the same , exept the afore mentioned Losi, and TM wich I really don't like the look of (no room for electronics). It's hard to make something new beacause as soon as its out everyone is doing a variation of it, simmilar to 1/12

Now I see hobby stores having a hard time to keep up on the additional parts.

[(more cars = more parts) ≠ more customers] = going out of business soon

Yep, looks like most of the other cars on the market. But it also looks to have good material quality so should be a competitive performer with the cars it looks the same as.

Sosidge, being a serpent, I dont deny it's quality. But lets look at the players in the game, Schumacher, Team Associated, Hot Bodies/HPI, Xray, Losi, Corally, Kyosho, Tamiya, (everyone except Traxxas and OFNA, YEA ), everyone are major players with quality parts. It's just going to be interesting with major events and who has the best set-ups. Maybe someone can get a car that has parts and fine options from all and come up with a super car. One that uses parts from any manufacturer available with minimal modding. Now THAT would be a revolutionary (albeit dream) car.
