The prototype car is on the winning pace

Finished Russian National winter championships with good win of X-Ray t2'007 in modified sedan classs.

But in stock three wins in a row made prototype car with really fantastic design which is unlike the "classic" touring car design with really sensation low CG - the height of the car (the top point) is 28mm high (without motor), the brand new transmission.

i was see, and prototype is fast as running speed in corner.

chris_blakey 04-16-2007 05:59 AM

shaft drive??!

looks a bit fragile and flexible to me?!? also what is going on with those cells? :weird:

it has only one broken part for 3 rounds of nationals, and the chassis is not flexible.

or8ital 04-16-2007 06:41 AM

car has wheels but different, as something, i vague

Wow this thing must be top secret. Perhaps you should strike up a conversation with RC MARKET.

John Doucakis 04-16-2007 06:48 AM

It actually looks interesting from what I can see in this small picture.

it looks like a 5 cell configuration following the EFRA rules, and the motor is positioned like the current belt drive cars, but the spur gear looks to be vertical to the chassis, like a shaft drive car.

If better photos can be posted it would be helpfull.

rcdy 04-16-2007 06:59 AM

is that a new xray?

ttso 04-16-2007 07:02 AM

Looks like a belt-drive motor position, with a shaft-drive drive train. Interesting design. 100% need special spur/pinon.

More interesting, is that a laydown damper through damper rod? Or something else?

Actually, the design allows to use 4,5 or 6 cells rules, so now you can see the 6 cells scheme, with servo on the right side (not mounted on the picture).

the gears are similar to others - nothing new :-)

the suspension - one of the designs that is getting patents now.

or8ital 04-16-2007 07:08 AM

It looks like the Penguin TC4 chassis. Where its completely configurable where the batteries and electronics go.

If the pinon/spur is like traditional, how to make pinon/spur 90degree cross?

Or motor isn't mount like belt-drive but like traditional shaft-drive?

BIGGER PHOTO SOMEONE!

number_one 04-16-2007 08:21 AM

motor is like BD )) you're right

There is no spur gear mounted on the car. If you look closely you will see that the spur gear and pinion is layed out on the table.

From the looks of it, it seems that it doesn't have a traditional "pinion on spur" transmission. Behind the batteries (4) you can see a blank aluminium piece which holds a pinion and is connected to the spurgear. Somewhere between the motorshaft and the aluminium piece should be a drivetrain connection which can't be seen.

@ number_one, just take a few pictures the next time you see it, there's already a picture made of it so it doesn't matter anymore! :sneaky: :p

Maybe the new design is based on the Spur and Pinion looking something like this: :D

The prototype is in the center (white car). On the left the driver finished second with Xray t2'007 and right Tamiya 415 MSX finished third.

It would strengthen things if you posted pictures that are closer and without the bodies.

What about the zombie rumors?

jo90 04-17-2007 12:56 AM

looks different, good to see another new name coming into the market

bxpitbull 04-17-2007 07:26 AM

Blew upthe pic, this is what I gathered

The car has the motor mounted like a belted touring car as is the layout, but think TL-01. That is what this car is a hybrid of. The shaft runs down the center with sealed gearboxes front and aft to accomodate the shaft running down the center of the vehicle. To accomodate the additional weight of added gears and gear boxes, they swiss cheesed the chassis. If nothing else, looks like it will be one stiff car.

The transmission made much better than Tamiyas, of course ))) the weight of the chassis with 5 cells rules is less than 1350 gramms. The flex is changes and the design of the chassis - is simple double decker like all other cars looks like. The feature is suspension, which is another design, another type of dampers, that gives the car less running weight and faster corner speed, better grip and stable.

Zaner24 04-18-2007 12:00 PM

In Soviet Russia, you don't take picture of car, car take picture of you.

hey ruskie, not dissing your car, but for us, we need illustrations, CAD or something. I basically was telling my comradesthe make-up of the vehicle as I saw it. I know you have to go through the KGB to get clearance, but on this side of the pond want to see close up shots. DA!
