I think the old cyclone has less on res. than the gt-7. I have noticed that whenever I get a brand new speedo, the car seems punchier with the exact same profile. I spent some time in school for electronics years back and remember that any circuit that sees high current flow eventually builds resistance. If memory serves me he used the analogy of a road. Its smooth and great when brand new, but gets rough and bumpy as traffic takes its toll. I believe that fets eventually build up with resistance and rob power. It is a good practice, in my opinion, to get a new speedo once a year. I think that Keyence has the best performing speedo right now. But, like Stephen said, you get what you pay for and they aint cheap.

If you run the front loose, you will have lots of off power steering, and very little on power steering. Run it tight and it will be the opposite. The rear is just the opposite. I usually run the front a little tighter than the rear unless there is just sick amounts of traction. Then run them about even. Good luck finding the feel your looking for.

Well my first race day with the car was full of glitches. I finally got the car working good after a few packs. Sorry howard, your setup probably didn't work well because no one bothered to sweep off the track before they sprayed down the soda....we were racing mod as well. I broke in the main after a glitch sent my car full throttle into a pipe.

However my setup got decent, so for those of you who race on low-bite tracks here it is:

Front:
Blue springs
35 wt oil
2 piston
second hole on tower, outer hole on arm
stock swaybar
droop 6 on gauge
F-0 block
4 degree castor blocks and losi knuckles
-1 camber, 0 toe
camber link upper outer, rear shock tower
no oneway, VERY tight diff though

Rear:
silver springs
40 wt oil
2 piston
outer hole on tower, outer hole on arm
no swaybar
droop 3 on gauge
R+3-0 block
losi rear hubs, inner hole on hub
-1 camber, 3 toe
camber link upper outer
Wheelbase middle

5 mm ride height all around
Losi Alfa body
Take Off CS-27 (premount) tires

This was for mod, should work good for stock too.

Default Race Report

Saturday - TQ and finished second (bad start) in Expert stock at Citrus .

Sunday - There weren't enough people to have a expert class so it was mixed Expert/Intermediate. I was told that two of the drivers were pro level. Qual 1 - got spun in the first turn and was in last place. Past everyone in the first two laps except first place. Closed on him a little but finished second. Qual 2 - Started second to last position. Fought through traffic and won but time a little short of TQ. Heartbreaking ending...A-Main - had my best pack, best motor, fresh tires. Put my car down to start the race...hit the throttle...car went backwards. Soldered the motor leads backwards and couldn't fix it before the race started . Magic Man was there two, though running his Demon and picked up the slack. He got his car dialed in in the second Qual and had a good battle for first place in the Main, but finished second only behind the pro guy. Since he was considered a pro, Magic was declared the official winner. Anyway, the car was great. This track is known for it's poor traction. The setup I got from Howard Hudson still kicked butt even on the loose track. I only made a small change to add some steering. I put green springs on the front. Next time out I'm going to try the car without the upper deck.

Vic - any new updates on the split upper deck?

Cool, i ran 4.5 mm ride height only because you never know if the race people are gonna suddenly switch on ya like they did at cleveland last year and go to 5 mm. This way you only go up 1/2 mm and it doesn't affect things nearly as much. And if they keep the usual limit like they normally do i can drop down to 4 mm for better handling.
