I think I am going to go for the simple PAL web edition chassis conversion on my regular R2, then work around that. I do want the batteries on the other side of the car...

Just finished putting the electronics back into my R2, bought a personal transponder on Tuesday, really nice, I can check laptimes in practice which is an awesome feature. I put it up between the bellcranks as far forward as I could.

I lacked punch on Tuesday, but had descent top end speed, so I wired up the capacitor, and threw a heatsink on my Quantum, hopefully it will help a little bit.

I'll get some pics taken of the car soon.

Sweet Transponder location.

How does your air scoop work? Good airflow even with the body covering the majority of the scoop's area?

Default SETUP

Hello guys i need help on some setting up my R1, im running on a big open track with a fair amount of traction can you give me some set up tips like shock oil, camber, toe-in, springs, body to use ?? Im going to use sorex 24R all around.

Apart from that can you give me an ideal gearing for a stock, im currently going to use a Trinity Monster 27t.

Hope you guys can help it will be the first time i use the barracuda and im am very unfamiliar with its characteristics. Im preety damn sure it will handle diffrently from my Tamiya 414M

Can we say, BYE BYE Mr Capacitor
does look fairly tidy but I'm taking bids on how long the capacitor stays there evens on the next race

airscoop looks well made, not sure how effective it will be though, there seems to be a lack of room at the front because of the ESC blocking airflow.

What reciever is that, since your esc is small yet seems rather far back compared to mine, from memory that is because my cuda is 150miles away right now

Not sure exactly on setup, try a fairly basic setup first, the stock setup has been a good starting point for all tracks with my R2.
Sorex make good tyres but I like to stick to Take Off's CS range, I've seen Sorex go off after one or two runs, Take Off's last a long time if your car is setup well.

Gearing is hard to say without seeing the track, last time I used a stock motor outside it was at around an overall ratio of 7.0 but that was with a Matrix V10R, which is quite a revvy motor like the Monster, but that track was average size with only one straight. On tha same track I gear a 19t Matrix at 6.05 and it flies

I'm sure it doesn't help much, but every extra bit of air I can get on that motor is good with the way I gear it

I ran mod with my SD, and had some nasty crashes with the capacitor mounted there, and never had a problem. Now that I'm running stock, I think I should be fine with it there, I didn't get taken out hard 1 time racing on Tuesday.

With the ESC so close to the motor, I put the airscoop there to try to bring some air in from the side. It's just a little trick I learned off the SD, hopefully it will help a little bit.

It's a Futaba HRS 3ch RX, it is really small, never glitches, it's well made.
