I not sure about this one but you could try to bolt the cgm chassis on top of the ssg chassis if you find any hols that are in the same positions on the two chassis. My guess would be the screwholes that holds the gearcases (Note these holes are 4mm) would be the same but I'm not sure.
Then you could see if it would be possible to drill new holes for the CGM steeringposts in the SSG chassis by using the
holes in the CGM chassis as a guide.

I thought I read several pages back that if you use the CGM steering on the SSG, it will give better steering ackerman. I think Masami was using this setup for a warmup race for the Worlds.

Here are a couple of pics of how I did it.

I now run a CGM chassis and have mounted the servo rod straight to the rear of the left steering lever. Masami does the same with his. Sorry I haven't any pics yet.

I have to say, this CGM is the best car I have ever had. It gets better every day.

I can confirm what others have said.

I run between 10 and 15 runs with an 8 turn mod before changing brushes and skimming. That's using a V2 endbell on a conventional motor.

Cheers for your input - much appreciated. I think the decision to use 19t spec control motors for our local winter champs is a really good move. It nearly happened last year, but now these new 'wonder' motors are on the shelves, there's absolutely no reason to stick to 27t. I can't wait.

I tried this with a long rod i had but the only change i noticed was that the steering went extremely sloppy...
Is it anything else i have to do to make it non-sloppy?

Thanks everyone for the pictures and help with the 90 deg servo steering mod. I havent tried putting the cgm steering bellcranks in the ssg car yet but when putting one bellcrank on top of the other they look identical as far as hole placement etc. I think that maybe if using the cgm steering the front end might have a little less slop, only thing you would have to do is make some sort of spacer to put on top of each bellcrank inbetween the bellcrank and top plate.
