Jimmy's 7x2 was slightly faster than my 10x2. My 9 will have him covered.

My SD is on the way. Maybe you guys can post some setups on here I can start testing. Local tracks are smooth asphalt and technical. More than likely will be running CS27s. So far I have my EVO3 hooked up for Stock Class. But will more than likely run the SD in Mod. I can't wait!

Thanks, I'll be looking for more changes and post some of my own setups as I try them. Can't wait!

But.....Hows about a little feedback on the price? I thought late last week was the time we were told we'd get it.
Its darned near April now, Yokomo can't possibly still be pressuring Speedtech not to post a price. If that is the case, when (in Yokomo's mind ) will it be okay to tell people a price.
The day before the release?
What we have heard so far about the car is very encouraging. I like cars that handle well with their kit setups right out of the box!

OVA, yes, I think it is a lot better. Not in the sense that it will drop you lap times by a full second though, if thats what everyone is hoping for. It is faster, but the main reasons it is better is because it is much more consistant, tuneable and easy to maintain and work on. I was only probably .01 or .02 faster than my previous fast laps with the special this weekend, but it was much easier to do and did it more often and that was just after 1 day of running. Things should just get better from there. The car seems to hold up well to abuse too...LOL My home track, Speedworld Raceway, is all solid wood barriers and corner dots. Needless to say, if you make a mistake, you pay for it. The car was slammed pretty hard into the boards a couple times and even flew off the track once. None of the instances resulted in any breakage or even tweaked the car. This should be a vey reliable and consistant car for everyone. I think Matt and I putt about 30 packs total on this car over the weekend, man is my neck sunburned....lol

mo - thank you for all the input, and any setup tips you and matt may have in the near future would be appreciated. i know there is a lot of emphasis on having a "free drive train", and i apologize for bringing it up again, but can you honestly say that the SD's drivetrain is as free out of the box as some of the better TC3s out there. I know we have spent many hours "freein'" up our TC3s and i look forward to seeing how this car measures up. Also, is this car "stiffer" than the previous "pan syle" chassis that yok offered (i.e. tosolini's special that he ran at the carpet nats). the reason i ask is i'm curious how the 3mm chassis and top brace will be able to handle the high traction situations in foam carpet racing. Again thanx for your input.

utieh, If you run the stock 70 tooth spur, I would start with a 23 tooth pinion.
TheBarber, I know I have seen some super free drivetrains on the TC3 too. But I know they have put a lot of time and effort into them. When I build the car, I did not spray out any bearing or shave any plastic or even mess with the gear spacing in the gearboxes. Immediatly after assembly, with flick of the wheels, the would spinn 3 or 4 revolutions. After I ran it twice, allowing everything to break-in, it was probably double that. I know with a little bit of effort (way less than the TC3), it could be just at good as anything out there.
