hmm.. slop u mean horizontal play or vertical play...
well using the shims should help with the horizontal.....
in terms of the play around the circumference of the bearing....
i use a drop of loctight around the outside..let it dry ,that should help a little...BEWARE dont use too much you will lock tight the bearing hehehe

Hi,
Dont worry about the play, it does not affect the cars handling.

hey guys has any one else noticed slop in the rear hubs of the phi?
i just checked why i had slop in the axles and its the bearing moving in the hub.
any fixes? cars quite new bout 5 meetings old only running stock.
cheers guys just seems odd and very quick to develop slop

Hiya,
As has been said you can shim for side to side play, i too have noticed the tiny bit of play on the bearings, but as Simon said, it does not affect the handling, Rather a bit of slop, than binding.

Over the last couple of race meets i have played around with the delrin and the duraluminum spool using the specialized steel blades.
The steel blades did slightly wear the delrin spool but i was not using any anti wear grease i was running it dry, i ran it this way for 1 race meet, and as i said it was only very minor wear.
On the duraluminum spool i used some anti wear grease and after 2 race meets the spool is holding up very well indead with no signs of wear at all.
So my advise to anyone running a spool would be to run the duraluminum spool with specialized steel blades with a small amount of anti waer grease.
Hope this helps guys.

Cat's meow...
I originally ran my Phi with the Orion 3600/3800 lipos (with normal placement of the packs); however, having the extra voltage of the higher capacity SMC5000 packs is the best combo. You just plain have higher voltage towards the end of a 5-6 minute run making you more competitive. The pack being positioned outward towards the rear also nicely balances against the weight of a brushless motor. Cat's meow!
