Team Corally RDX Phi

http://international.corally.com/ima...rdxphi_200.gif

1. Lowest COG on the market
2. Narrowest chassis on the market
3. Equal length left and right rear bulkheads
4. Easy accessible diffs
5. Optimised weight distribution with equal weight on all 4 wheels
6. Easy adjustment and replacement of roll centre couplers
7. Improved steering geometry
8. Lower overall weight
9. Improved diff, spool and 1-way pulleys
10. Replaceable centre pulleys are used on the duraluminium spur gear adapter.
11. All pulleys are optionally available in several sizes for optimised internal ratio on long and short tracks with either brushed or brushless motors.
12. Adjustable wheelbase settings: standard 264 mm RDX wheelbase or short 256 mm wheelbase without sacrificing the driveshaft alignment. Fine wheelbase tuning by hingepin spacers.
13. New wishbone design
14. Pre-shaped battery slots
15. Improved swaybar mounting system
16. Hard anodised duraluminium pivot balls
17. And most importantly… all parts and suspension are optimised by phi ‘golden ratio’ geometries throughout the design.

The New RDX Phi will be available from early 2007 in Euro Spec ‘5-Cell’ as well as US Spec ‘6-Cell’ editions.

So far, nothing official, just some prototype pictures that have been floating around. You can follow various links to pictures here. Here's a few of the better ones.

i think that was what they were shooting for. it makes it easier for guys w/ $100's in spares to run the new car. also im guessing it would be cheaper to make b/c of less molds to be made.

We've been talking about this for a few months in the RDX thread. They reused a LOT of parts from the other car. Even the rollcenter blocks, which you used to have to get to from the inside of the bulkheads are reused. It appears they screw into a new piece that in turn mounts to the chassis from the bottom.

This car very much appears to be the culmination of all the updates we've seen for the RDX over the last couple of years, combined with some ideas from hopups (like the offset bulkhead) combined with the latest in convenience, like easy access to the diffs. Needless to say, I'm excited about it.

2. Narrowest chassis on the market

Even more narrow than the Losi JRXS-R? Doubt it.

Is this car for carpet or outdoor racing? and what about the RDX are they still going to make it or is this car a new RDX?

That is why I love Corally they aren't in it to make a quick buck by releasing a new car every 6mos. and they try to maintain part continuity between new and old cars. :D

i cant wait for this car to hit the market in the us. it looks alot easier to work on and more tuning options that is what i like the most. killer platform looks like alot of the others but has alot of new ideas involved which are better than other companies.

THE DARKSIDE 12-06-2006 07:02 PM

So help me out here. I'm not understanding how the diff thing works. If the diffs are centered, the spur gear is offset left, and the belts both run in a different "path" in the car, how does the whole mess get centered in the car? Just curious.

Car looks good...except for that "birds nest" of carpet fuzz around the shock.
