I would love to see a new car come out even if has no major pro driver. I buy what looks like the best performer and has good reviews, money also plays into it. Losi would sell at least one car to every die hard losi fan, myself included. heck I would even try the car for FREE if you need average joe's opinion.

I only had a few runs, with very little tuning on my foam car last year. but I ran F2605 28mm Mounted, XX PINK/ORANGE form bsr they seemed to have more grip than I needed, but I didn't work on the car very much. glade to see you come out for road.

Ok thanks, If the BSR stuff is the same as the oval foams then I should be ok but if its not I'll be lost. lol I will prob just run VTA in the end, I'm not so sure I wuld keep up with the fast people anyway.

I was still kicken butt and taking names with my mid motor JRXS about 1.5 years ago in 17.5 TC with boost. Then I got a type R and I'm running that in VTA and doing very good. Just a few things I don't like. The lipos don't really fit (I know they make short packs and could use a good reference under 5000maH) and the other is the setup sheets, I would like to see an editable PDF file that could be saved and changed again later.
Other than that, not much to complain about.

Thinking of picking up one of these on the cheap.
What are the things I should look for and what exactly makes the lipos not fit? is it mainly the bullet style ones?
The battery fit issue is with the width and thickness around the rear blulkheads. If your plan is to run a class where a shorty pack provides sufficient capacity there will be no problems otherwise get the calipers out and measure.

okay. Looking at the jrxs regular, anything bad about that with lipo fitment? Can run shorties, its just 17.5 blinky class or VTA.
the mid motor car was very different, I got rid of mine long before lipos came on. the rear motor cars are very cheap to come by and fixed both the performance and durability problems of the mid motor version.
IF your interested I have my type-r version for sale.

lol. just finished buying 2 JRXS regs for $100. didn't want to put too much into a chassis for this class:

oh well, will see how it goes. at worst don't have too much into them.
Will probably go with a shorty lipo setup once I see what they look like.
Any tips would be most appreciative.

I ran the mid motor car (the same one you purchased) in 17.5 TC. I ran a soft pack in my car, you take the hard case off and slide some 4" shrink wrap around it and there you have a soft pack. You have to watch the packs and make sure they do not get into the drive pulleys. I was looking at AMain Hobbies the other day and I saw a 2s lipo the size of a 1s lipo, I think this battery will work but not 100% sure (I did not measure the car). I know some people think the mid motor car is not that good and is really slow, but it all comes down to the driver and setup. I have a good setup for my mid motor car; pm me and I will send it to you.

cool, will do.
I am looking to run shorty packs, I have heard that takes care of the problem. Just need to see a pic of how its done.

The height is what you need to look out for, make sure to measure how tall the space is in between the decks. I know one local racer with the type-r actually tapes his battery to the top deck so he can leave out the bottom tray for more room.

Thanks. I am looking at 25mm clearance based on the batteries I am looking at. Seems the common size for shorty lipos. Also, I am hoping to get a pic of the setup from the guy who posted this:

The reedy shorty pack is a perfect fit, no modification required.
