Team Losi JRXS Type-R

Well, it's time for a new Losi thread, seeing as there is a new car to be released in the very near future. Those of you attending the IIC in LasVegas next month may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a pre-production car. If you have any ?'s about the new ride feel free to ask. I'm sure that Todd, Chicky, Dumas, Keven, Randy, or myself can provide some answers. Enjoy!

Ok, so does Type-R = rear engine JRX-S? As in the one several team drivers have been testing for a while now.

Andrew Gray 08-14-2006 04:38 PM

Yes, it's a rear motor car. However the production car will have a much cleaner and cooler look that the prototypes that we have been running the past year.

I am not ready to give up on the front motor car just yet. I believe I learn a little more about it every time I drive it. I will ask you one question though, will I notice a real difference from the new car to the old one on asphalt and if so how much difference? Ok, so maybe that was technically two questions!! :D I think the old car rocks on asphalt w/ the Numan setup. Will that same setup work on the new car or is it going to be completely different? Alright, so it was three questions. Come with Hodge to the sports bar in the lobby at the South Coast on Tuesday the 19th at IIC and I will buy you a beer for answering my questions. :D

Andrew Gray 08-14-2006 04:54 PM

Yes, you will notice a difference. The new car has alot more steering and generates more cornerspeed than the old car. As far as setup's, they will be different from the front motor car. Don't quote me on this but I think that when the new car gets released it will be carpet ready, as far as springs, swaybars, ect. Todd can jump in here and clarify that if he wants.

Are they sticking with the plastic bulkheads or moving to the more standard aluminum ones. Maybe some easier diff access?????

Umm, hell I did not think it was that bad to begin with. More steering and corner speed, so it will be balistic more so then the last car!! :weird:

Andrew Gray 08-14-2006 05:13 PM

stiltskin - The bulkheads on the production car will be some trick looking aluminum ones.

Yeti35- Yup!

Just a fun'n Mr. Gray! :D Is there any way to get some pics of the production chassis or do we just need to wait for Vegas?

You are correct on the carpet set-up. Todd posted a few days ago that the car will come carpet ready.
