Losi JRX-S Type R chassis, suspension etc for sale
I have a good condition Losi JRX-S Type R chassis, drivetrain, suspension etc for sale.
i just started running this car in VTA and i'm needing some help/ suggestions.
the first problem was traction rolling. I seem to have fixed that with low roll centers and running a stiffer rear spring.
the issue i have is wayy too much on power steering with the spool.
set up is
front oil..40..spring 17
low roll center..arms evenly spaced
5.5 mm ride heigth..droop been from 1.5 to 4...currently 2
shocks outside top.
diff high
camber link high inside ..no shims by hub.
rear
35 oil..19.5 spring (stop traction rolling)
low roll center, high diff
shocks middle tower, outside arm
arms forward.
camber link 4A with .030 shim
have tried sway bar combo's all over place.
If i can just get the car to settle down on power in the front it will be good.
steering servo futaba S9551.
any suggestions is much appreciated.

Hmmm. I might try dropping your front shocks to the #1 position (inner most). That might keep too much load from going to inner front when you return to throttle. I used to couple that with a little pro-squat at the rear to help pitch the car on entry with 6* caster and keep the back tight under throttle.
also try 45 oil in front and 1 to 1.5 droop in back 1.5 2 for front I found that droop was my problem. I tried a spool but went back to a one way,
my setup is mike haynes with only 20 lbs spring for the back for change, i run slight more rear weight and perfect side to side hard 180 and almost anything is wide open for me, car is amazing
my current problem is that my lap times fall a 1/2 sec over the race. I use the New proteck 5000 30 c lipo from amain, running a 104/50 and 1.5 year old motor, around 30 timing
with maybe 120 motor and 98 esc temp
my thoughts are
1 motor old
2 tires develop too much traction, but I never roll.
3 maybe I think I drive better at end than I do,
any thoughts?

been working on getting a JRX-S Type R together. Noticed that when attempting to mount my Promatch Shorty lipo it was too wide for the trays. did some dremeling but ended up cutting through the plastic tray lol. So worked on an alloy tray that came with the kit, got it together good.
Just an FYI for those using promatch shorties, there seem to have no curvature on the lip of the lipo in comparison to there saddle lipos (all I had) when I fit them, had to dremel more.
Also, I noticed that when I mounted the Exotek lipo top deck, it seems to rub some on the steering saver from lock to lock. The ball stud would hit it. I actually raised up the linkage to on top of the servo saver arm instead of the ball stud mounted from underneath. that seemed to clear it up.
One thing I did notice though is that the stock inserts from the parts the saver spins on are really soft material. Anyone know of something that is more durable or has a hex area you can grip easy with a tool to keep it still when taking it off?
All in all though, considering its older tech I like what I am seeing. Looking forward to running it next time indoors.

got a chance to run this old school vehicle for a practice session, 17.5 blinky setup using promatch 4000mah shorties, Speed passion V3.0 motor with 20 degree timing board.
First thing I noticed, using a spur gear sized I was recommended I couldn't get anything smaller than a 34T pinion to fit (spur 78T 48 pitch). With my FDR at 4.20, the motor was fading at about 3 minutes in and was hotter than I would like. No fans mind you though.
Since this vehicle is looking to get some outdoor duty, got a deal on some 94T Losi 48P Kevlar spurs. Assuming things fit as I hope, going to start with an FDR around 5 and work from there.
All in all though, this vehicle is very nice. very impressed with how it handled with one of the VTA setups posted.

yup, temped it and she was up there, knocking on 170. The motor itself I have used before without the increase in timing (stock board) and it was fine.
The track was loose, so it was kind of in-between drifting and full grip initially before working on the setup a bit.
Right now I am wondering where people like to put the ESC. I got it on the other side as the manual suggests for brushless, but seems a cleaner install on the same side of the motor posts.

I run it the same side as the motor posts (next to the left rear upright). Wires are only a few inches long.
