I use one with a 104 spur and somewhere between a 52 and 48 pinion to reach a FDR of 3.66-4.0 (17.5 motor, rubber tire)

Just curious? How does this adapter facilitate the smaller spur gears? ie Why wouldn't a 108 or 104 fit the car as is? PM would be preferred to save time but I'm flexible.

The smallest spur Losi makes is 118 and the adapter allows you to use after market smaller spurs then what Losi makes. The after market spurs have a bigger hole in the center and will not attach like the Losi spurs do.

With the PRS adapter I actually went down to a 108 and using a pinion in the 40's for my brushless set up. Works real good.

What should I be running for gearing with a 10.5 and rubber tires?

With a 17.5 my fdr is about 4.5 which is perfect for my track, so 5 is about right....

Anyone wanna see why losi is ahead of their time. XRay just basically copied the lcds exactly, 4 years after there were patented. The only difference is the set screws instead of the shrink wrap. And personally I like the shrink wrap better. I have never had shrink wrap come loose and back out like a setscrew. Im just waiting for the 009 type r next. First it was the Eight now the LCDs. Losi must be doing something right.
