has anybody tried the fitment of the promatch 5000mah 25c lipo in their R yet?
my lhs has them cheap, also, how does side wiring on a lipo work on this car? (trust me, i have searched this thread and others, or maybe i'm not looking hard enough)
This pack looks like a steal though-

I went to the track last night and my car was excellent. I'm running a 13.5 with rubber (our biggest class)
2 guys were running 1/10 foam mod and wow. Now I really want to go foam again. BUT I only have one 1/10 car.
My plan was to get the new 1/10 pan car from associated but now I'm not sure If i got with an other losi type R for foam or if I should go with a pan car????
hard decision

oh...one other thing that will go in favor of an other typeR (foam) will be the lipo
pan car do not have lipo or at least the way that compagny will like to go is a common 4 cells class (I think) and I do not want to deal with nimh batt any more.
so my guess will be that I will hunt for an other typeR soon.

I have bought a Type R second hand. How do i know what springs are in it ??
They are black,i dont have anything to measure them with .
My car is causing me grief to get hooked up in the rear end.
I'm pretty new to racing and this thing is frustrating me.I run it indoors on rubber with a surfaced concrete track.
I have a spool in the front, but i dont know how to adjust the rear diff to the right tension.Tips? E.G Wind it in fully until coil bind ,then wind it out ???? turns??

you should ask other people at your track for a little bit of help. I'm sure they will be happy to help you.

There is a website out there that has the diameters for each spring weight i'll post when i get home from work.

Thanks guys, yes i have the manual, but still notsure on the diff setting.
No one runs these cars over here in Aus much,so help is a little hard to find.
I do have access to calipers and the measurement chart would help muchly.
I only run 17.5 turn b/l and i'm going to run it with a 540 instead to learn better driving skills.
The track is pretty tight and i tend to loose the rear on corner exit if that helps.
I'd like it more understeer biased to get to know the car first if i can.
At the moment.i can't put the car in the same place twice.

You can also try laying your shocks down (moving the upper mount one hole towards the centerline of the car) to help, but without knowing where you are starting from it's tough to suggest. I've had some issues w/ getting the rear of my car planted and the folks on this thread have been GREAT at helping out.
You should also take a look at these posts to get an idea of a starting setup:

I am also kind of new to touring car (2 seasons) and i had a jrxs-pro before the type-R i also bought mine used. I would suggest (if you haven't done so already) to tear the car down, replace/clean anything that binds or is dirty make sure you don't have tweak and that the car is assembled correctly according to the manual (you would be surprised as to what i found on the front end of one of my cars!!). This way you can reset the car to a standard box stock starting point and you aren't inheriting someone else's bad setup or broken parts.
If you could post your current setup (the best you can) that would be great too.

If you have nothing to measure the coil diameter of the springs than, stack 2 springs in your fingers and compress them together, if they are the same or similar than they should compress the same. If one is heavier than you will feel it and see it.
Alot of us have had this difficulty with loose off, and alot of us discovered it was due to the spool loosening up, check this every run but be sure that you don't over tighten it.
