excellent day today but the local hack struck again. was 2nd on the grid and the hack was TQ and at the tone the whole shot looked like Surikan (sp) victimizing Barry at the worlds. Two turns later he drove straight through me. Didn't even stop. That's three races in a row that he has hit me from behind. The old me would have put him into the boards long ago but I have a few sponsors that require me to turn the other cheeck in situations like these. It's very frustrating when you have an excellent set up but the end results don't show it due to something like this. I think that this set up should be a nice starting point for the nats. The nats track has a ton of grip and the track I raced at this weekend has the highest bite of all the tracks in our area so I tested some things there. my current set up can be found on www.gearchart.com the only changes that I made to it were front and rear springs. Went from 15 front and 10.5 rear to 17.5 front and 12.5 rear....front camber location to #3 hole and the rear toe is still at 3 degrees but it's not all inboard. I have 2 inboard and 1 outboard. I wanted to see how the weight transfer felt with a little outboard toe added in. This car is the real deal but my finishes might not show it until I get away cleanly from my lil admirer.

Is there a difference in the performance of the 41t spool vs the 42t???

the 41t pulley will make the steering a little more aggressive. some people like the feel of it, personally i don't.

I ran the 41t spool today. Car was really good early in the run, then got pretty bad loose. Rubber tire/carpet is what I'm doing. Should I go 42t to soften the front, or keep working on it to set the rear end a bit more? Our track isn't in it's best shape this time of year. I'm running basically the kit rubber tire setup to the T.

you can either choose to continue with the 41 and adjust your set up from there or go back to the 42 and see if the car becomes a bit more stable for you.

I prefer the 42 for carpet, i have run 41 and liked it outdoors, but i think it is a bit too much for carpet.

Tough weekend this weekend, kept losing right rear turnbuckles (4) 2 were my bad after contacting the boards and 2 just decided they'd had enough. Switched to HPI 1in turnbuckles and no problems

Apparently everyone decided to switch to brushless since last month and had an uphill battle yesterday qualifying. Track setup had a huge 160ft straightaway with long sweeper and those brushless motors really like that action. Fortunately I was pitting next to Team Orions Derek Furutani and he came up with the great equalizer .......... Orion 3200 lipo pack no more being waxed on that straightaway. First time I have run lipo and was really impressed with the punch you get from those cells make sure you adjust the rear end as it really does light the tires up compared 4200s due to the huge drop in weight.

Lipo pack fits nice and snug just need to sand a lit bit off the front edge of the top plate and the wires can drop straight down.

i was breaking rear turnbuckles for a while too. are you running your arms back or forward? i was running mine back, but when i moved them forward, the breakage went away. the turnbuckle is at a pretty good angle backward if you run the arms back. i think that angle at an impact can cause the turnbuckle to rip out of the ball cup.

Glad to hear you liked the LiPo. Without the weight, it's insane. If you weighted the car down to the legal limit, it would probably be a tad slower than your good NiMH packs. That's true for the Orion/Kokam cells, at least. If you went with the cheaper, more scary cells, you can get more voltage, but at the expense of safety, cycle life, etc.

LiPo is a slippery slope, both good and bad.
