$750 sounds completely realistic considering what the others currently cost, anywhere from $600 (Yokomo) to $1000 (Tamiya) it seems like every high end touring car is priced really high in the US for the first 6 months or so then usually drop a bit. It is curious that they are cheaper from Europe. It isn't just Mugen either, Im in the US and bought a yokomo touring car from Mibo saved about $100 vs buying from anywhere in the states.
The mtc3 looks super cool though and if my club continues on road i might pick one up this coming winter, I'm guessing the price will probably drop a bit by then...

Sales tax? Does Mibo charge that for US residents? That'll easily account for the difference.

MonacoRC.....

582 euro.... Pre order ...Lowest I've seen

MonacoRC is pricing it the same for the MTC2R. Given that logic...

I'll be honest, does anyone really care if the price is +/- $100? I just bought Chinese take out for a family of 4 plus a couple kids that came over and it was $100. At least I got 8 fortune cookies.

Love seeing that the bulkheads and motor mount is now pinned to the chassis. To fix my MTC2R I machined all my bulkheads and motor mount to use the Awsomatix centering screws. After that adjusting and setting caster was a breeze and accurate.

Nice to see a rear body mount similar to the RC Maker HRP mounts I use on my MTC2R!

Car looks very easy to work on and to make adjustments.

Since you don’t mind pissing money away. I’ll sell you a steel chassis for $500. You might as well since you don’t mind getting raped by everyone else.

Bummer. Was this a reputable US source? Not entirely sure why they’re so much more expensive than the European and Asian sources. Monaco has them for preorder for $611.63. Shipping is $26.90. That’s over a $100 dollars cheaper.

I’d like to support my local hobbyshops, but Jesus!

One word tariffs. Its such a beautiful word.

Monaco has been cheaper than American distributor’s for a while, before the tariffs, which I’m not even sure apply to theses products. Amx kits have been $100 cheaper on Monaco vs Sidepiece for years.

Hmmm I see 699 euros when I go to monacorc. Looks like they have 5 in stock.

Price drops from 699 euro to 582 euro for me when I change region to Australia. That's a 20% difference, which is no coincidence as the sales tax in Monaco is 20%.

the tariffs have existed for the longest now for our hobby. But we regardless we know we will still pay the price of it if we want it lol. Just be glad mugen doesn't release a new kit every yr.

rc_user 03-18-2025 09:22 AM

Im in the States and bought kits from Mibosport in the past because it's considerably cheaper too. I've been considering a new futaba 10px and it's about $100 cheaper there too
I'm sure the mtc3 will drop in price after a while, they always gouge the early adopters

there is huge difference in pissing away money on something you want, and getting raped "by everyone"

When you buy from Monaco to be shipped to USA, do you not get taxed by US customs?

Our government doesnt tax us for imports directly.
They wait until we posess items then tax us to death for years.

But no, we dont pay duty taxes or things like VAT.
