This is what I’ve been recommended to get for racing in Vancouver.
I was advised to go for the D36 ones which I think are the following -

D36 D-SPEC Asphalt TC tire 4pc set Pre-glued.

Can you confirm these would be the ones?

Seems like they only come with the thick soft inserts, so I guess that’s what I’m going with.

Also, how many races/race days are they lasting you?

thanks

It's possible to get those on various rims and with various inserts.

I got 2 sets with dish wheels and 2 sets with spokes as that’s all they had.

Anyone have experience with the Takashima D-13 vs Wei RC steel chassis on black carpet?

I have cars built with both... I honestly can not tell the difference in performance.
The machine work and finish on the Takashima is better however.

Was there any improvement over the stock aluminum chassis?

I'm mostly looking at it due to weight and keeping the CG a little lower. 100g of W all over the chassis is no fun.

Never had an instance where I've dramatically lowered CG and it didn't help, so yes.
And yes it's nice not having all that extra weight stuck everywhere.

Nah, kit is pretty strong material.
It has its weak points but tends to flex a bit more before finally breaking.
There's arms out there with more bracing also helping give the car a more direct feel on high bite tracks.

Shock upper ball

Part number A2557 - Upper Shock Ball.

As a first time builder, can I ask, how does this fit through the shock cap hole?
it seems almost too small and I’m not sure how rough I should be?

Any tips or tools I should use for this.

Thanks

Can't go wrong with either. Kit would be more cost effective.

thanks, also how am I supposed to fit A2557 - upper shock ball into the shock cap.
it seems super tight and not sure how rough I should be?

thanks

Make sure you are going in the right direction, it goes in one way but not both ways! Push in opposite side of the hole. It is going to be a little tight, but it does snap it and move mostly free once it pops.
