I had the same problem. Call AE and they should hook you up...I actually bought 2 pack of rebuild kits and out of 16 shock caps bought from different locations and caps sent from AE. all but 4 were good....They are aware and are trying to figure it out....
I am waiting to hear what the problem is and waiting on resalution from all the caps I bought....

Is the rumor true that the TC5 has been discontinued.
The guys at the track said it was, I have a feeling they are wrong.

Well sort of... The TC5 Factory team kit has been discontinued, but they are still producing the TC5r and the TC5f kits.

Hey all, just picked up a used FT TC5 for my son and am looking at the Exotek Lipo Chassis conversion with the extra flex top deck. We're running rubber tire carpet and I've been out of the Touring game for a while. I did some digging in the thread regarding the Exotek chassis, is it worth it?

I think it is. I like mine just because of how well it holds the lipo.

Default exotech chassis

what i like about this chassis ....way lighter ...moves the batt and electr. closer to center line.I would take a tc5r top plate and cut a groove down the middle about 3mm this works great for rcgt and vta

Yes it's a nice set up, worth getting both the chassis and top plate, car balances up great with this kit too.

Has anyone found that with less grippy tires, the car performs better?

Probably depends on the surface, and I already race on low-bite asphalt so less grippy tires is seem less noticeable as I'm already setting up to try and get as much grip as possible. My current 10.5 setup with well used tires on low bite asphalt get tire squealing

mind sharing your set up? As I'm going to try out 10.5 as I have been racing 17.5 for three quarters of a year already on a low to mid grip sort of technical track.

I have also been looking into this chassis, the extra flex chassis would be the way to go for rubber tire on asphalt right?

The whole thing is a nice setup but if you wanted you could get the top plate first and try that as it has a lot more flex than stock and can be used with the stock chassis.
