You need to use the outdrive blades. Look in the TC5R parts listing for the part number.

Hey guys,
What is the deal with all the different edition TC5's is it just the tires or the springs that come with it to?

The TC5R kit comes with all the ideal stuff for any rubber tire racing. The TC5F kit comes with the foam/carpet stuff.

The difference is springs, thickness of chassis pieces, stiffeness of suspension parts and a few other things.

Hi Jim the question I had is what does the TC3 do the is being termed "torque steer"? the automotive definition doesn't seem applicable to me?

i have a few tire questions for you guys. i picked up a tc5r as my first TC to try out. i will be running rubber jaco tires on a carpet track. traction compound will be jack the gripper. anyone care to explain tire maintenance at the track? do you clean them after each run...if so, with what, when do you apply jack, etc. thanks

Just got finished looking at the pictures from the roar nats on rc50, and noticed several tc5's with the steering servo at a different angle? whats the advantage?

The way it was explained to me (I hope I understood correctly) is that the current steering geometry, servo to saver, doesn't have a linear feel. The servo mod takes care of it.

What do you mean by linear feel? You mean it feels like a step up system? As in a delay?

It's tough to explain because I don't feel it on my TC5 (at least I don't think I do). My guess is that it happens because of the angle of the small link between the servo and the saver. The geometry of the that link apparently gives a 'lumpy feel' to the overall steering.

My solution is to set the servo arm perpendicular to the link so that you get an even throw in both directions.

Maybe one of the guys running it at the Nats. will explain it better.

things can vary wildy from track to track.. best thing to do is ask the fast guys at your track as to what works there.

Most guys use motor spray to clean the tires off. Just spray some on a rag and rub the tires until they are clean. As far as the tire sauce, i usually apply mine about 10 mine before my race. Ask the fast guys at your track what they do. Also, how you sauce the tires can affect the handling too, so again, ask the fast guys.

I had my first indoor carpet race yesterday adn can say comming from offroad its a huge culture shock.
But at our track they use lighterfluid to clean tires as it leaves the tires nice and clean no residue and is very cheap. I clean after each heat while my batteries are charging then I dope them a heat or two before mine.

the screw is not long enough to connect this. When I remove the spring it will reach the nut.

I even used tried the screw from the current diff and it would not work either. It only works with the plastic halfs..

What am I'm doing wrong?
