I'd like to know as well and also does running 4B instead of 3A on the rear link make the car rotate more or less?

i have another question, for a 17.5 motor geared somewhere around 3.5 what is the smallest spur i can put on there (64p). i have a 88 and a 96 and was hoping to get the 88 on there to make the most room for my electronics.

Depends on your pinion that you want to run. I'm pretty sure I got an 88 on there before, but you have to keep an eye what brand you use. wider spurs like Kimbrough may hang up on the bulkhead or topdeck in such a small size.

Josh told me he can be on the power way more and drive the car harder w/pro squat. I'm sure he will be on here to give us the lowdown

Hi everyone, first I'd like to say that there is a great comunity here and keep up the good work.

I'm just getting back into RC racing and will be getting a TC5 to replace my 8.5 year old HPI Pro2 and wanted to ask you guys some quick question.

Does the stock TC5 FT (not R or F) come with a 48 pitch or 64 pitch spur? Since all my old pinions are 48 pitch.

The manual states that you need imperial hex driver (050, 3/64 inch etc.) but I read a post on here suggesting metric (1.5mm, 2.0mm) hex drivers. Is the TC5 FT metric or imperial screws etc? There is some confusion as in the TC5F and TC5R manual it suggests metric!?

I know you guys have been asked a lot, and I read a few posts where you said this already but couldn't re-find them with the search:

What spares are needed the most under normal running/crashing?

I ask because I live in Scotland and there is a big shortage of stockists of associated spares (seems hard to get online from UK, never mind a hobby shop) and would be looking to get spares in advance since probably 1 missing spare means I'm out for 2 weeks.

Also, if there are any UK guys running TC5's where do you get your spares?

Thanks in advance.

Ft car should be a 48p Kimbrough.

The car is metric, but for some reason the battery strap parts are imperial. Everything else should be metric.

Buy some arms, caster blocks, and put a kydex bumper on the front. Also, the shock bladders need to be replaced after a while too, so you should get some rebuilds.

Thanks for the speedy reply, much appreciated.

I'm so glad its metric! The imperial system boggles my mind.

Josh, why do you run all hard suspension parts on your rubber setup ?
I thought that soft pieces were the way to go.
Thanks.

Thanks.
As traction gets high I feel the hard parts are more consistent.
The soft part are great for low bite carpet or asphalt.

Default Gearing

I want to switch over to 64 pitch. I am running TC5R, Novak GTB, 13.5 SS, rubber, asphalt, good traction. I have a full set of pinions except 30, 31 & 32. What would be a good starting Ratio? Which spur size/brand will fit with no problem?

We are even using the hard parts on asphalt when the grip is high.

How are you guys mounting your lipo packs, ex the trinity ip 3800 35c etc? I dont like having to run then 1/8th away from the center pully.

Picts?

What tends to be the best gearing for a 17.5 ?13.5?
