I know I read when the kit first came out about people soaking the belts. I also recall some people were running them in a really tight setting for a few runs to stretch them out a bit (though this seems like it might put excess strain on the motor) I think I even read about people cutting every other tooth If I could find a place to get the bomber belt, I would. But everywhere I looked it was out of stock so I gave up. I'm interested in getting the Exotek cam holders, but I'm just not convinced that they are worth getting yet.
I've purchased a pair of RC Devil Low Drag belt's for my TC5, the cam holders on my TC5R are good enough to drive with the kit belts.

The original TC5 kits came with belts that were on the short side of allowable tolerance. This unfortunately has carried over a bad rep. I built my TC5R last week and the drivetrain is silky smooth and plenty free

The Asso belts have more plastic in them wich make them hard to roll over the pulley's. The Low drag belts are softer (wear harder...) and makes the drive train even more free. I've build my TC5R with the kit belts, that was good, build them with the low drag belts, was even better. I Think in Stock racing it is important to have a lot of roll in the car! The power of Modified is that high that the kit belts are better in my opinion.

Bearing's wearing out quicker than normal from their tiny size of 6x10x3mm. If Associated would make the axles 5mm, and then increase the space in the hub's molding to take an extra 2mm width of bearing, the standard and much more durable 5x10x4mm bearings would slide right in.

But the car does run great with the 6x10 now, even though they do wear out quicker. Just gotta have extra bearings and maintain them as best as possible and hope for the best
