Think this should be noted.... F2 class is for anyone that wants to race. It's 25.5 and open tire this season. No qualifying needed to run the F2 class, it should be the same basic rules as you local track is now. So bring em out, race this incredible format, and have fun!!!

More information about UF1 Series is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/uf1rc/ and the UF1 web page at Home | UF1 RC - Formula 1 RC Racing

Correct me if there's misinformation here Tony...

Nope, just like I would have said it!

F1 drivers need to run 21.5T motor, F2 the 25.5T. Few other minor differences but that's the biggest difference.

F1 drivers need to run 21.5T motor or should run it to keep from getting run over?

Quick question...Last time I drove my F1 was during the last F1 series about 2/3 years ago. During that time I was using a Trinity D4 25.5. I no longer see this motor on the ROAR approved list although it was legal at the time. Does this mean this motor is no longer legal and I would have to get one that's on the current list correct?

That is correct. Also, note that F1 drivers need to use a 21.5T motor, F2 a 25.5T motor. Just keep that in mind for this weekend.

Dang it!
My 21.5s are all old too!
Nothing on the list either.
Can't imagine any of em would be faster or even as fast as the new stuff.
I may not have a legit motor then.

Don't you mean F1 drivers can use 25.5 or 21.5 and F2 a 25.5T motor?

The new 21.5t motors might be a handful on a 2wd F1 car : the old motors might still have a smoothness advantage....

Nope, we thought we'd do the 'or' but the whole idea is to make F1 great again LOL. So, F1 is 21.5T, F2 is 25.5T.

Exactly my thought. Don't need a powerhouse, need a smooth motor.

Everyone ready? Doesn't matter the class, just bring out the F1 cars for a full day of racing and very little qualifying..... Everyone is welcome.....

Ok everyone-

Here is the schedule for Round 1 of the UF1 Series this weekend at TQ RC Raceway:
Track opens: 10am
Practice starts: 10am
F1 LCQ: 11-11:30am
Driver's meeting: 12pm
Qualifying starts: 1pm

Pictures and awards to follow.

If you are interested in running the F1 class but didn't make it to either of the F1 Qualifying Sessions, we will be holding a 1/2 hour F1 LCQ Session prior to the start of the event.

During that time, you must hit a target time (to be announced) 3 laps in a row with a 25.5T motor. For example, if the overall target time is 60 seconds, you must hit 3 20.000-second (or less) laps in a row. If you hit that time, you qualify for the Formula 1 class and will have to change to a 21.5T motor before actual qualifying starts.

If you don't qualify and choose to run the Formula 2 class, we will be monitoring times of the top drivers in that class. If we feel there might be a little sandbagging, you may be moved up to the F1 class with a minor points removal penalty.

Also: Before you show up, make sure you check the rules on the UF1 page (can be seen here: UF1 Rules and Regulations). We will have the official UF1 "Width" board and scale available at the event for everyone to use. Top 3 cars of both the F1 and F2 classes will be checked after each race.
