I moved mine in, you won't really have any adjustments on the spring otherwise

That's what I was thinking. Felt like more preload than I wanted, too.

Hmmm.
Build it or stick with the orange ride from '15 which it kinda resembles other than the t plate option, now that TCS Finals are over and UF1 is gonna get kick started again?
Would it have made a difference for me yesterday instead of sticking with my autopilot 104 X1 (which noted was off it's usual pace for some reason)?
My orange '15 X1 car is better than my blue X1 car without question, asphalt and carpet.
Will the juice be worth the squeeze if I put the TRF 103 down next to the '15 X1 ?
Looks like it didn't suck at the Euro ETS series against even the modern orange crates.
Thoughts from my peers?

I probably said the same in person, but at least at this point the X1 is more versatile. Way more options available for Xray right now, and the 103 is not a proven quantity on carpet.
That being said, a few key upgrades ( paging MikeR) like a plate with more caster options and maybe an aluminum lower chassis and there would be no reason the 103 would not work in all situations.

I've had the side damper come off on my X1, helped me discover that I really like super light lube on it.
Also had center shock come off on the X1, got me to liking that setup super light too. T plate car of course.
Lost a side spring on carpet on another brand and car was wack, never had both off tho.
That crew chief has been fired for a long time of course (can't have shit fallin off the chassis) but with a nice bonus for helping me develop my current setup for the X1.

how tight are you running the plastic rear pivot with the 2 lock nuts in it? Manual says tighten for smooth movement so the whole pivot moves forward and backward? anyone put AWG on the bottom of the locknuts?

At TCS Nationals/ Finals the TRF103 was running in all 4 configurations with great success.
Links transverse and inline battery
T bar transverse and inline battery
Apparently the chassis just works.
Gonna play on carpet again to see just what it does there, probably a bit "flexy" I'm thinkin but was not terrible when just dropped down with the tire change last week.

I ran the t bar and links at the Tamiya nats. At the beginning of practice, on Thursday, the links seemed better, but I tried the t bar later in the day and that was better over the run, but not really on hotlap. I went back to the links again Friday for practice, but by mid day, I tried the t bar and stayed with it. To be honest, I was looking for steering most of the weekend without throwing the balance way off. For the main, I went to the short wheelbase and the car was awesome. I got into trouble on the first corner, which sent me back to tenth, but once I got the tires clean the car was great. There was still a lot of mixing around mid pack where I was, so my finish was not very good, but the car was great with the t bar.
